    Problem with swallowing foreign bodies.

Okay, I just finished kitty proofing the bathroom. There isn't a small cat tree or a scratching post yet but I reorganized everything and maximized the space in a smarter way so I can get everything put away when I need to. It's a LOT of work so I really hope this keeps him safe and happy.

I've been reorganizing it to make it safer for him to be there by himself but it's not ready yet.

    Problem with swallowing foreign bodies.

I have an interesting update -- I noticed yesterday that when Clyde plays with his small tennis balls [he goes crazy over those] he sometimes kicks them behind my desk where there's electrical cords for my desk lights. When he runs after the balls over to that part of my room he is avoiding the...

Thanks for the info! Right now I'm taking only online classes so most days I'm home all day. I don't leave the house much, at least currently. How do you see vet students? It's not like calling a vet to make an appointment, right? Do I try to find a number for that department at the school...

    Problem with swallowing foreign bodies.

Oh, sorry, I have two quick questions that I forgot to mention: Would you recommend that he still sleeps in the cage at night or should I put him in the bathroom? I will definitely not put him in the cage during the day but for nighttime he may cry if I make him sleep in a separate room from...

    Problem with swallowing foreign bodies.

I have an update. I did some shopping today. I went to the Container Store and got boxes and stuff to organize my bathroom to maximize space to put everything out of his reach in boxes or in the cabinet when I'm not there. I don't want to leave anything out while he's by himself. I also went...

I've had really long discussions with these vets though, some of them at least a half hour long. I've also talked with all the vet techs. We actually had one of the vets come to our house and had her talk to us about this problem. We basically know everyone there now and they all said the same...

I was also thinking of getting a small scratching post with a bed on top of it for the bathroom. The bathroom is really small but if I find one that fits I'll consider it. He has a big cat tree downstairs and so far the only part he tried to eat was the strings with balls hanging from them, not...

    Problem with swallowing foreign bodies.

I think you're misunderstanding my posts. I am simply explaining why I did what I did, and why I put him in a cage in the first place. I am not looking for excuses to keep him in a cage at all. I hated the cage idea when the vet recommended it. I know he's not asking for a toy while he's in the...

    Problem with swallowing foreign bodies.

The blanket he ate was actually one of the cheap fleece ones that I got at PetSmart. He only ate the part with the decorative stitching though, there was a picture of a kitty stitched on one corner and he only ate that part. But now I'm worried that he'll try to eat other kinds of blankets...

Wow, I can't believe I got so many responses so quickly! The support here is amazing, thank you. I'll try to respond to everything that was asked in one post. About his diet, I feed him freeze-dried raw from Primal. He loves it, and his poo looks the best when he's eating it. I feed him three...

    Problem with swallowing foreign bodies.

Hi. This is my first time posting here. I read through a lot of threads when I first got my Sphynx and found this forum really helpful. I have an issue that I'm trying to fix and I wanted to see if anyone has any advice or tips. My Sphynx cat, Clyde, is not even a year old yet, but he's been...
