Hi guys I'm new to this, VERY glad a page like this exists, has helped me lots with my new baby.
I've recently grown concerned, due to the fact that my 10 month old baby has been growing tiny dark spots on some areas of his body, like on his cheeks, ears & outer areas of his belly? He has also been cleaning himself a lot. I'm just worried as to if they are bothering him, or if it's normal? Or if it's something I should contact my vet about? if anyone could help on this matter it would be wonderful & I would greatly appreciate it.

My Sphynx is growing spots, but he does not get exposed to sunlight & he is not old, he is a baby! Should I be concerned?? Because I am, it's really worrying me.

Hello and welcome! It looks like pigmentation to me. It seems like darker colored Sphynx tend to develop/show more spots than other colored Sphynx....what a cutie. None of the spots are raised or red?

Post a picture of it if you can... most sphinx develop spots sooner or later. It is usually just pigment (like a freckle) and nothing to worry about.

@Prince Anubis ,Welcome to you and Prince Anubis, what a cutie!
Looks like pigmentation - does he sit in the sun? Dark sphynx I have found pigment easy-
My black sphynx had a huge area of pigmentation when I adopted him that was vet checked to confirm.
Never hurts for a vet check if you have an appointment for follow up shots it can be checked then too-
There are several of us that have had similar experiences send asked about pigmentation and urticaria pigmentosa
Here on the lair- a search will bring up some pics too -

Please keep us updated-
If he is sunning to much, I move a cat tree etc to a new more shaded window area-
We are constantly trying to keep them out of the sun - they complain and hold onto the window ledge as I pry them away!

Looking forward to your journey with Prince Anubis - jump right in and enjoy the forums! Don't hesitate to ask anything- we are all here for each other

Thank you for replying! No they all seem to be pretty darkish grey/ black. I hope it's only pigmentation changes, Does this happen to all of them?

No Anubis hasn't been exposed to much sun, only in car rides & I keep him in a blanket, I don't want him to get sun burned & also because the weather is cold.
They seem to grown as the days progress. Thank you for sharing your experience & replying to my post! :)

You guys have been sooo helpful, I greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much! I'm still taking Anubis to the vet tomorrow for his shots & to make sure it's not an allergic reaction to anything.

Let us know what the vet said. We have a dark Sphynx and spots come and go like magic. So don't be surprised if you experience the same thing. I have seen several members report the same thing.
