Hello everybody! My 3 years old kitty is not fixed, I was hoping to have “ grandkids” ones before doing surgery, to be honest I also was and still am afraid to submit healthy kitty to agressive surgery to fix her….
She was having heat every 2 months precisely. Few days of vocal and certain body language, at night she would go to sleep not worrying that she is in heat. 2 month ago I didn’t see usual symptoms and behaviour but I saw couple of drops of fluid looks like diluted blood. I took her to vet , she was checked , I was told that she has signs of being in heat and everything looks normal. I think that nipples and genitalia was a bit enlarged ( that I understood is normal for heat). Now is 2 months mark, no discharge, no enlarged nipples and genitalia, no vocal and behavioural indications of being in heat. She did not go to heat. I’m very afraid for her health. Just simply going to vet wouldn’t do - it would be recommended to have blood test, ultrasound and who knows what else ( handling that would be difficult). Sphynx parents ! - any information, experience, anything would be appreciated. I am not comfortable expressing my feelings but she means A LOT to me - I don’t know should I seriously worry or I shouldn’t be panicking. I start worrying…..

@Precious , Please be aware intact females are at risk for ** life threatening Pyometra, and the surgery to try to save a cat or dog with Pyometra can be very costly and no guarantees. I suggest talking with your vet to rule out open or closed Pyometra for peace of mind.

I have my pets charts marked "NO Ketamine anesthesia" . My vet uses isoflurane for spay/neuters .
Also important if breeding, HCM heart scan of her and Sire, typically can cost nearing 1k . sadly HCM can be a known condition in sphynx cats.

I know you love her. Please talk with your vet to do right by her. hugs n positive vibe head smooches, all paws are family.
