My sphynx has the same problem. I just signed up today to find more info on this. Did you ever learn what the skin condition is and how to treat it?

Welcome to The Lair. Your babies look snuggly sweet. Can you share a close up of the skin issue you are inquiring about?
Here is a pic of the skin troubles. She was bathed yesterday. My poor girl!

@PinkyWrinkles my Babas gets flaky stuff almost looks like scabs around his neck when I do not rinse him thoroughly after a bath. Do your baby always get this way or just some times? Is it only the neck? Some also say under armpits. Your pic looks very much like how mine can get sometimes.

Sorry lol I messed the quote up! Her head, neck, belly and thighs are affected. After a bath,it comes back quickly. In another thread, someone mentioned urticaria pigmentosia, and that seems to fit her symptoms to a T. When I gently scrub the dirt flakes off, she ends up with hives. I notice when she gets hot (which she loves to be whenever possible), she gets a little sweaty and the brown
appears. This started at about 6 months old (she is 1 now).
So glad to have found this site, I've learned so much about sphynx care! Thank you to everyone writing in to help Pinky
lose her spots:)

It comes about a day after a bath, and looks dry and crispy, like rust. Until yesterday, I thought it really was dirtand had been searching to noavail for the source of this dirty place in my house where she might be picking it up.
When I bathe her, I'd been using Johnson's moisturizing baby shampoo and a wash cloth to dab the dirty spots off. Yesterday I noticed that the areas I'd dabbed became red and weepy, then the rust patches came, (the weepiness is new as the condition seems to be worsening). If I don't bathe
her for a long time, the rust still builds up, it doesn't go away and she dries out terribly. She is only ever free of this right after a bath.

It occurred to me that maybe Pinky is allergic to the soap I use
or perhaps her food (Iams). Allergy threads recommend 5mg of Zertec, so I just gave her some and hope it alleviates her sore, painful looking rash. We already use scent and dye free detergent. Her little sister from the same mom has no problems with her skin.
All day I've been devouring this site and have decided to switch them to a raw diet as it seems to be good for allergies as well. So relieved to find such a treasure trove of info and so many fellow Sphynx devotees!
I will keep you guys posted as I attempt to bring Pinky back to good health and velvety pinkness!

My gut says not urticaria pigmentosa... not a vet, but please update us. You could be right an allergy.

The picture is not that clear, have you tried using a bit of Coconut oil and gently washing that area? It almost appears like Sebum (oil.)

I am also not a vet, but it sounds a little like allergies to me also.....just remember to change things slowly and unless they make Pinky worse, give them a long enough trial to judge if they work or not. Good luck and please do keep us informed.

Aw, thanks! I am on my way to buy the girls RadCat raw diet. Their website says it's good for allergies. And I read here that a raw food diet will also help alleviate Stinky Pan Syndrome haha!

Happy to report that Pinky is doing better. I switched the baby shampoo for hypoallergenic pet shampoo, and it made a huge difference. I wash her less now, too.
My girls don't seem to take to the raw diet, but I'm going to keep trying. Just switched them to a grain free brand of hard and soft, so hopefully that might help clear up the remaining skin irritation. They seem to love this stuff and gobble it right up:)
