Alright Ladies and Gents. I have finally found a breeder I am comfortable with. I dont know if we can post names in here. If not, Admin I apologize in advance. The cost of a kitten is 1,300. She isnt planning on breeding her female until Feb. As of right now, no one has put a deposit down. So I would be the first one. (Aka pick of the litter)
Facts
1. 3 year health guarantee including HCM
2. Kitten will come with shots, and a spay
3. She has given me the name of the King, Queen, and the GrandCats (So I can look them up)
4. She has the HCM scans for the King and Queen along with vet records at my request
5. She is letting me make payments through paypal (So I can pay slowly so the husband doesn't have to know how much the kitten is going to cost)
6. She will allow me to show the kitten
And thats all I can think of at the moment. I have talked to her on the phone for about an hour and a half all together, and have shared numerous emails with her. My gut feels comfortable about dealing with her. She has invited me to come to her home before I get the kitten so I can see how they are raised. She's given me her recipes for the raw food diet (Im not going to do it, but I said what the h

I know that cattery but have never met any of the breeders from there.

two points to be aware of:
1. should anything go wrong money-wise paypal provides no recourse for items ordered more than 60 days out -- but it does provide a nice paper-trail, and a third party between her and your bank account --not that I'm suggesting that this would be needed.

2. kitten mortality before 8 weeks is higher than anybody likes -- even the most responsible and conscientious breeder --just saying be prepared for that possibility.


now that you found a breeder you trust, here comes the most difficult part... waiting for the next 8 months !

Fester, thanks for the info on the mortality rate. Shh, lets think good thoughts! I like the paper trail idea with pay pal as well. I dont think the wait will be that hard for me. My Chihuahua of 7 years past away a year ago this past July, and i've been looking for the perfect new addition since then. 8-9 months is nothin'! You can also ask for a copie of the Felv and Fiv test of both parents...and if they are tested on PKD ( copies also then ) good luck....it sounds great ( only the looooooooong wait...pffff )
