activity levels?

My 4 year old sphynx seems to sleep, lounge or rest most of the day. It seems like he doesn't play as much as he did a year or 2 ago. He eats twice a day (wet food only) and that is usually when i try and play with him but he seems uninterested. If I break out the treats ("Feline Greenies"), then he will become more alert and eager to chase after and find the hidden the kibbles. After his 3-6 kibbles are gone, he'll sniff and continue to try and look for them. Then, right back to his blanket on the couch.

Does this sound familiar? What should his activity levels be? I would like him to be more active and playful because I feel it's healthy for a cat? Agree? Any suggestions or insight on this would be helpful.

My Diesel is as my hubby would call him a "stoner", He sleeps most of the day and will get up for food but not canned food. He could care less about treats. He watches Fuzzy play but would rather sleep. Deisel will be two in Feb.

Many slow down after kitten-hood is over. If your baby is enticed by treats. Perhaps a treat dispensing ball would be good for you baby. You can google them as there are many different options. Making them work for it will also exercise your baby a bit more.

Thanks Patti, I have used a treat dispensing ball which helps a little. However, he either gets the treat too easily or not at all. I need to look in to a better quality one I guess. Thanks for the reply.

My crew is way to good at getting the treats out too. I added water bottle caps and wadded up paper to slow down the treats...lol. Good luck.

Look at the treat puzzles. Even the easy ones for dogs Merlin can do. Keeps his little mind buzzing.

Have you ever tried the Da bird? Is he getting enough food. Just wet twice a day? Can you not leave out dry to free feed?
Or wet three times daily?
Or is he on a diet?

Here something I do with my soon to be 3 yr old boy Brody aka "drowsy". Buy a dogs bathing glove (rubber bristles on it) Pet and rub him with it. It stimulates him and he might play afterward. Works for a while on my boy but then it's back to nap lol!!
