There have been a few times where I couldn't find Tut in the house. *CUE ANXIETY* and panic sets in and I'm running around the house screaming Tut...TUT! and of course no meow to signal where he is. Then I rack my brain how could he be gone? I check his favorite spots, pat down the blankets on the bed. Where in the world could he BE!?! I continue the calling Tut... Tut-y! up the stairs, down the stairs.... shaking a treat bag to try and lure him out because I KNOW he couldn't have gotten out. I'm definitely sweating by now. and then a small meow from behind me says "here i am, treats please" and I breath again. That silly cat was sleeping under the covers the whole time.
Thank goodness.
has this happened to you?

@GMPLAX23 , Oh sweet Tut was in a deep sleep ! Gives me a heart attack everytime too!

I went thru this with my Bengal years ago-

Well stinker had opened the kitchen cabinet sink base , and crawled through the dishwasher hose hole!
He was sitting wedged between the dishwasher and sink base wall !
Stinker did this twice!

Other heart attacks moments I found them snoozing on top of the 42 inch kitchen cabinets hidden behind the crown molding so I couldn't see them!
Now I have to get s ladder and take a peek up there!

Oh Tut! I bet you got lots of treats!

Ooooh Tut you sneaky little boy! Don't scare mommy ever again.

And yes, this is very familair. I think it happened at least 6 times. One time I searched for an hour in the house. Although I knew Toa couldn't be outside I still went to search outside calling out his name. Back to inside, again searching for half an hour. And then he all of the sudden sat there on chair. Still don't know where he was hidden. I swear I saw a "I gotcha mommy" smile on his face!

Yep, more times than I really want. Well, really only a few, but each of them were terrifying moments.

Like @Toa and Ross ,, I have wondered outside calling one or the other's' name,, just in case they got out mysteriously. Even if no one had left the house all day! Once you start panicking, logic goes to the wayside.

It's always such a relief when they find them.. And yes, you swear they do it on purpose sometimes!
