Awaiting gotcha day(s)!!

hello! I’m new here.

I’ve loved the sphynx breed since I was young and I’m finally graduating and am able to have one!!

I had settled on one but have since decided that he definitely needs a friend. I’m getting two male babies, one is a solid blue from a breeder in the UK, and one is a seal/chocolate point from a great breeder in Russia!

I honestly am so so excited and this wait is torturous!! Any tips on getting through it lol?

I’ll attach some pictures of my future babies. In the photo with two kittens, the darker blue is mine

Are there any experts that can tell me whether the other kitten is a seal point or chocolate point?

And any band suggestions?

@Nadine Hill your kittens are beautiful. Seal point refers to the pattern-brown nose, pads, vivid blue eyes. Chocolate refers to the color. So, the kitten is a chocolate seal point.

Beautiful kitties! Okay, I will take a stab at this... I believe your baby is a seal (aka natural) point. From the photos it looks like his nose and feet pads are black. A chocolate point has ‘chocolate’ nose and feet pads, aka brown points. Point also refers to having true blue eyes. There is a color chart here somewhere, I’m sure a moderator will attach it soon... it explains the coloring terms, although it can still be rather confusing! I’ve been wrong before, but I’m pretty sure he is a seal point!!

He’s very beautiful! My boy is a seal mink (natural with aqua eyes). I get him in 6 days!! Your blue is a beauty too! How long do you have left to wait?

@Nadine Hill. Yes i just got 2 babies last month and its amazing watching them together. My daughter @Bailey21 has their older brother and from day 1 all got along and play together every day. The hardest part is waiting for gotcha day. Lol

I'm currently second on the wait list for my breeders Queen who is pregnant and due for babies first week of July, we can suffer with this awful wait together! I’ve got a month for the seal point and two for the blue kitten, it’s suchhhhh a painful wait

A month isn’t too bad! I had to wait 5 years! Jk, it was a 9 week wait, but it took me 5 years to convince hubby to let me have one. We are now down to 5 DAYS! This group is really great for care and health recommendations/advice. The “sticky threads” in each section are very informative as well!

Thank you everyone! I waited a long time looking for a solid blue male! Seems less common in the UK. he’s the darkest of the litter, so beautiful.

The seal points eyes and wrinkles tug at my heart strings!

Is there anything anyone recommends getting for them that you have found useful that isn’t common knowledge or on one of the main threads?

I really hope your gotcha day comes around quickly !
Start to buy your bowls , litter boxes ( you will need two litter boxes in my opinion )
Buy little toys , blankets I have a water fountain for mine to drink from , buy little beds for them to sleep in amazon have a good selection , you will see the time will pass quickly for you !
You have two stunning little boys waiting to meet their forever momma !

not usually on the main stream threads...
I recommend is a metal scooper for litter - with having multiple kitties and always on poo patrol scooping I found I kept breaking the plastic scoopers

A small mini dust pan or cordless vacuum kept by the litter boxes ( and at least one additional litterbox than number of kitties )
they don't have fur on their paws so they tend to track litter more easily

dark colored sheets and blankies is sometimes preferred

Kitty proof for life - even their toys! Bells , strings , small pieces .. They are masters at mischief !
Secure your televisions - they love jumping up ontop flat screens tv's
Move breakables , collectibles .. They enjoy pushing things off shelves
I cannot leave out earring , necklaces , watches - thieves I tell ya!
*throw dental floss away in a lidded trash can.. Some even steal toothbrushes
*toilet lids down - had one bad experience when a guest left lid up
*watch walking, opening and closing doors - they are always underfoot and lightening fast escapees
(I train them to a spot for meet n greets )

Lol cover your head at night when you see that look of zoomies in their eyes!
More than once their lightening fast feet has caught one of my piercings - ouch-
So I train them to their blankie on my bed at bedtime

I like to train them like a dog - Positve praise and treats

If you decide to neuter - a good time is during the neuter surgery
always update amd check your info that is on file with the microchip company

They always recommend an extra box
I use the good pet stuff hidden litter box - I don't use the moss it comes with - it looks like a planter -

It's a fav here
I found my boys are big and prefer a larger box

I also have the catit jumbo litter box they like too-
I like it because the lid folds bsck for easy scooping

I always remove the plastic door flaps mant covered boxes come with -
The flap just pops out

You can google " litter box hacks" that have great ideas to conceal the boxes

****a few other things I forgot to pass along :

1. watch razor blades kept in the shower-
Mine kitties decide to jump up in the shower stall amd grab amd pull down and steal razor blades!
Caught him running away with the razor blade ! Yikes
They certainly keep us ome our toes

2. We even have kitties tha have turned on stove knob controls

3. I also learned the love to try to sit ontop of hot stop tops! I put my kitties in my bedroom on the rare occasion I use the stove top or oven

4. The little hear seekers are notorious for going amd sleeping in the shine and dryer
So always double check before using or closing

5. They like to go inside safes too!

Most certainly keep us on our toes
