I am getting him from a small private dealer who is sending him by a pet courier service I only need to pay for the courier tommorrow , her payment will then be payed this week .I have allsorts of things worrying me about this ,Its really hard to trust someone who hasnt given you all there details although i have given all of mine . all seems ok with everything she has told me but I have only seen pics of him , trust has to be a 2 way thing .I just dont want to be dissapointed . i just hope and pray he is the kitten from the pic ..........need advice please :Dizzy:

I hate to say this, but the pet courier etc rings a lot of alarm bells. Was the kitten free if you pay for the pet courier or have I misread?

Why don't you have her details? Do you not have her address? Have you spoke on the phone (have you googled the phone number to see if its from the area she is meant to live etc.)

I'm glad you haven't paid upfront, but your post did worry me. I really hope it's genuine and you get your baby. Have they got a website etc?

Your post sends red flags for me also.
I hope I am wrong but it sounds like you might have been scammed.
Please do not send any money.

I had the exact same thoughts when I read your post! The "pet courier service I only need to pay for the courier tommorrow" really screams scam to me. Please be careful, and don't send any money...I would hate to see you caught in another horrible scam. Remember, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is!

I share the same thoughts. I am concerned that you said that you pay for courier and then payment will be payed this week? You would normally put down a deposit on the kitten and then you would talk courier, which would not be shipped until kitten was paid for. You also said it was hard to trust when you had given all of the details but they hadn't. This just sends a lot of red flags up to me.

There are a lot of scams out there where people state that you just have to pay for shipping/courier, or you pay for shipping upfront and then make payments on kitten, only to never receive kitten.

I saw one that would put up the same scam ad under different names, saying they needed a good home for their kitten as the owner was pregnant and they were moving. All you had to do is pay courier. There were so many inconstancies in stories and pictures of cats. As soon as I called them a scammer they never emailed me back.

Just be careful. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

I am not trying to sound mean but who in their right mind would ship a cat before receiving payment for it? How would she know you are going to ever pay her for the cat? Also, the "courier" service may be a front and you are actually sending the money to her, or the person trying to scam.

To be honest, there are so many reputable breeders and valid rescues out there. I think this is a scam and you will end up losing money and having your hear broken.

I can't think of any reputable breeders in the U.K who would sell a cat/ kitten for 300quid, cash on delivery. Every reputable breeder I know, talks to the person first on the phone, exchanges details (so you can post them the contract etc) and asks for a deposit, or if the kitten is ready to go they ask for the full amount before the kitten leaves their home (unless its getting picked up in person.)

Where did you see the ad for the cat? Did they give you a website showing their cats?

I sent an email ealier asking for all details plus her account details to send the money after .I do agree with you all but I have a glimmer of hope it is really what she says she is here is some of the emails i ve recieved from her , wat do you think ?? ::Dizzy:
the total cost for every thing is 270 pounds o.k, 120 pounds for the courier fee and 150 pounds for the adoption fee, please one of this kittens willbe coming along with all its toys, feeding bowls, sleeping bed, travelling crate , health and vet documents, including food stuff, so you won't any of these things for him or her. also i will like to ask if you are interested in a female or the male.

As concerning the delivery if you can afford the courier fee, then i can book a delivery reservation under your names first thing tomorrow morning so that he or she can be couriered to you tomorrow and you have your selected kitten delivered at your home directly tomorrow as well. please i won't like that these kittens should be used for breeding or any commercial purpose o.k and i hope you will accept me to visit your home and see how your selected kitten is doing any time i have the change to come to your town.
like i said before the courier fee will be paid directly to the courier service after i registration of the kitten has been done so as to secure and facilitate the making of the change of owner ship documents under your names. after i have register the kittens under your names, the courier service will then contact you to confirm my registration and will send you the delivery details , take off time and arrival time, they will also direct you on how you will be paying them the 120 pounds.
your will later send me the rest 150 pounds after the delivery if it won't be possible for you to come with total money tomorrow .
the kitten will be delivery directly at your house since they are specialized in door to door delivery o.k, i have 3 courier services closer to my job site and i can have the registration done in the morning before going to my job site. so if you can send me the following details of yours then i can make the arrangements in the morning under your names
i will need your
full names....
home address.....
contact number.....
postal code....
Id card number or passport number which will be used by the delivery agent to identify you when they arrive.
with the above details, i assure you that one of these kittens will come yours and all its document will be in your names.
thanks once more and hope to read from you soon.

SCAM. SCAM. SCAM!
That just shouts scam to me. If I were you, I would stop all further interaction with this person immediately. The strange foreign sounding writing, and "hope to read from you soon" is classic writing of all scammers. If you are really looking for a Sphynx, I highly recommend contacting a rescue organization or reputable breeder! Best of Luck to you in your search.

Sorry, its a standard scam email. Also reads like you will be contacted BEFORE delivery by the courier to pay them(see bold section.)

The name/address etc list is standard scam email talk and the poor English "hope to READ from you soon" is standard too.

Sorry but it looks like a standard scam. Where was the advert placed that you read?

We can't recommend breeders on here, as such.

But there are a few good ones in England, you will have to spend more money though from a breeder, or maybe get an older retired cat. Make sure you research their name, what health problems they check for (FeLV, FIV, HCM etc) and check their contract. It will be worth spending extra money, honestly.

EXACTLY. This is most definitely a scam and I would be completely shocked to the floor if it is real. First thing I thought when reading the "ad" was, "yep, there's the terrible use of the English language that comes with all the scammers". I am so sorry, but I would not pay a single pound to this person. I am so sorry, but I feel the need to be brutally honest.

:Dizzy: She can do some damage with these details if she wanted too. Keep super vigilant about your bank details (look out for charges etc.) Hopefully it will come to nothing, but be careful that she doesn't charge catalogues, loans. hp etc to you.

I'm 100% with Bella07 on this. It screams SCAM. Send your money if you want but I'd be willing to bet my paycheck that you'll end up screwed out of your "courier" money.

And PASSPORT?? WTF does someone need your PASSPORT information for?
