So, my lovely Cleopatra hasn't been feeling good lately. She's turning 13 years old at the end of the month, and a few months ago, she started to have trouble jumping up. She also would limp on one hind leg sometimes. Then, last week, she started vomiting. She would vomit up to 3 or 4 times a day. This has happened before, so we tried our remedies—probiotics mostly, but yesterday, it was time for the vet.
Our vet comes to us, and checked her out. She hadn't lost weight, her temperature is normal, and she's not dehydrated, so she got the antinausea and appetite stimulant shot that has worked for her before. Then we addressed her hind end weakness. The vet has a new medicine for cats that he says works really well in arthritic dogs. It's called Solensia, is injected, and should last at least a month. The rest of yesterday and most of today she has been sleeping.

So today, Bob has been pampering her, feeding her on her favorite spot, and she's eating and not throwing up! She hasn't been too active today, but this evening, I had her walk with me a bit, and she seemed to be walking easier and stretching better. Hopefully tomorrow, she’ll be feeling much better.

She needs to get better so she can get back to bossing Bob around.

Sorry to hear Cleopatra has been feeling under the weather. I spoke to a woman in the waiting area when I took Martooni for shots and she said she was dropping her Dad’s cat off for a Solensia injection. She said it has made a huge difference. That cat could no longer jump up on his lap and since getting injections, is able to again. I hope it works well for her too.

The stomach thing is always stressful. Glad to hear she has not lost weight. Was it by chance Cerenia that they gave her for the tummy? We had they several times with different cats over the years when vomiting and it stopped the vomiting immediately and by the second day back to themselves eating and more energetic. Please keep us updated…Lair Prayers are sent. I hope Marcus is giving her a little bit of quiet time. @Cleopatra Beers

I don't know about the first injection. Marcus has his paws full with Miss Foxy, who seems to think it's fun to chase him upstairs from the litterboxes. He is allowed to use his box, but apparently the basement belongs to Foxy. I must admit, I'm still a bit worried about Cleopatra because she's been sleeping most of the time. She's probably feeling after-effects of the shots, but if she doesn't perk up tomorrow, I'll call the vet again.

So this morning, Cleo came to our bedroom door while we were dressing to demand that her Daddieo follow her to do her every demand. Her biggest demand was that he feed her new food (they had been fed about an hour before, and she was spotted eating dry food) in the mud room on her favorite mud room post. She climbed the post almost effortlessly, and polished off the food. Now she's sleeping in the big post in the dining room, and looks like she feels much better. Marcus is supervising his daddy, as they start writing the 14th novel in the Tony Mandolin Private Eye series.

My Foxy has been taking Solensia since July. It has made a huge difference for her. She is playing like a kitten, running the length of the apartment and back and jumping for everything that dangles. She gets a shot every month. They monitor every 3 months since she has kidney issues and she is fine. It has made a huge difference in her. She will be 14 later this month. She was in a study in UC at Davis regarding keeping cats with mobility issues healthy. Foxy wants to defy this. Just before her next shot, she might limp. I would recommend it to everyone. It has been available in Europe for a long time with no side effects and recently approved here in US.

Cleo definitely feels better. She was climbing into her favorite places today, while we were gone. But when we came home, she wanted to be lifted into her stroller.
Marcus is claiming that Bob is his ghostwriter. Marcus is dictating the books, and Bob is just his scribe. However he has no explanation for how the books that were written before he was born came about.
