So, my lovely Cleopatra hasn't been feeling good lately. She's turning 13 years old at the end of the month, and a few months ago, she started to have trouble jumping up. She also would limp on one hind leg sometimes. Then, last week, she started vomiting. She would vomit up to 3 or 4 times a day. This has happened before, so we tried our remedies—probiotics mostly, but yesterday, it was time for the vet.
Our vet comes to us, and checked her out. She hadn't lost weight, her temperature is normal, and she's not dehydrated, so she got the antinausea and appetite stimulant shot that has worked for her before. Then we addressed her hind end weakness. The vet has a new medicine for cats that he says works really well in arthritic dogs. It's called Solensia, is injected, and should last at least a month. The rest of yesterday and most of today she has been sleeping.
So today, Bob has been pampering her, feeding her on her favorite spot, and she's eating and not throwing up! She hasn't been too active today, but this evening, I had her walk with me a bit, and she seemed to be walking easier and stretching better. Hopefully tomorrow, she’ll be feeling much better.
She needs to get better so she can get back to bossing Bob around.
