Hello! I’ve just received a female baby sphynx, she’s two months old and the breeder gave me her health certificate. She seems fine, energetic, sleeps a bunch and wakes up to eat/drink or use her litter. However I am concerned she’s too skinny, she eats and drinks a lot. I’ve already scheduled a vet appointment just to be on the safe side but it will be in a few days. This is the first time I have a female baby with me and I am Very anxious (I lost my first sphynx a while ago to cancer and that made me very paranoid). I hope someone with more experience could tell me what they think.

@Sphynxlover567 , keep us updated on her name and the vet visit.. was she dewormed by the breeder? good idea to bring a stool sample check to check for parasites/worms. some contracts have a clause for a vet wellness check within a certain time period.

all paws crossed for good news updates on the vet visit. I also ask for the vet to take a good listen to the heart for any murmurs while I am there.

let us know what she eats and if free feeding.

Hey everyone! Thank you for the well wishes, unfortunately she isn’t improving a lot, we took her to an emergency vet appointment because she started pooping with blood, even a blood clot appeared.
We talked to the breeders and they were very straightforward and honest. Apparently she isn’t from the litter of her cat but one of her cousins cat and they didn’t have her whole health certificate validated by their vet. Our vet told us that her condition is because the vet that they took her to gave her low grade medication for parasites, they didn’t do their job properly and now she is filled with them, not allowing her to get nourished. Plus she’s under stress because of the rehousing situation. Right now we are discussing with the breeders this whole situation because it seems very unprofessional that they gave us a kitten when they didn’t verify her health first. We are very distraught with this whole situation and hope to come to a decision that benefits the kitten, our priority is the baby.

That’s terrible. I wish you all the best going forward. I hope you will at least be able to get the breeder to pay the extra medical bills.
