Sorry can't help you there, only because Meecho only bites when I don't do something fast enough for her and I end up cracking up instead of correcting her bad habit

If he's teething like my puppy is, they make some great teething toy's at the pet store. I'm not sure if they have any for cats but in the puppy section you could find some, and then roll it in catnip to make it more appelling to him. darn my spelling sucks today :Dizzy:

If it makes you feel any better, ButterBall does the same thing. If he's really frisky, he'll stick his front claws out and hold on to my hand and arm for dear life. It really hurts when he does that. Usually though, if I don't put up a fight, he'll start licking.

the best advise I have for you is to act like his mother and litter mates do !!!

shout like "ayee!" when the little guy bites and stop playing with him, if he continues.

after a training (always repeating the same action/reaction) your little bitter should stop.

try to entertain him with toys and not with your arms/hands...it's not good.

I agree with Moonstone, have play sessions with toys, and if he gets rough, stop playing, and then try again!

Speaking of biters Meecho is at it again with the neck biting to the puppy. She got yelled at big time...not by me but everyone in the house aside from me is really sick of her biting necks. I really think it's just the way sphynx's play. EVERY video I see of sphynx cats playing they do a head grab and a bite to the neck. I see what everyone is talking about, but I don't see how I can change her habits if it's an actual trait. I've tried stern voices, spray bottles and taps to the nose...any idea's guys.

Moonstone has got some great advice there. Making a vocalization sound, a hiss or a "TSSS!" sound should get his attention. Cats are smart and can learn the word "No". We use a noise like a buzzer going off when the cats are doing something wrong and they've all learned to avoid whatever behavior they're attempting (it's been only 2 weeks for our newest cats).

Two products that will help are Bitter Apple and Yuk! Apply these to the area that your cat frequently bites. This won't hinder playtime but it will leave a nasty taste in his mouth the moment his teeth touch you. If conventional training doesn't help, this might because you don't have to teach him anything, in essence, his own failure will teach him that you taste bad.

The main thing, above all, is to cease playtime when you're being hurt. Divert his attention from your body parts to a toy. It's important to have cats that know its inappropriate to bite you, in situations where they are painful or are severely harmed...you want them to think twice before defending themselves against your help. This, in your case, will need to start with playtime.

I totally agree. When Kreacher starts doing that I yell "Ouch" really loud. Loud enough that it stops him in his tacks. He gets put down on the floor so associates that action with biting. So he will learn that in order to cuddle he can't bite.

You could have fooled me. Your English sounds fine to me. In fact, better then most Americans. I hate how Americans have butchered the English language the past 100 years. If people from a hundred years ago heard us speak today, they would think we are a bunch of bumbling grade schoolers. That's just my opinion.

J'ai loué un appartement là depuis deux semaines. Il était dans le Marais. Nous avons partagé un yard de cour de justice avec la Rue. Paul.

Mon Oncle vit au porte maillot l'arrêt sur le métro.
