Hi Everyone.. anyone's babies have issue with this.. I mean they always used to get brownish areas during the winter from laying on the vents but would wash off and go away in spring but this year it did not and looks black... been to the vet and says is normal pigmentation issue which I am aware of but not like this...keeps getting worse.
Thanks in advance!

Do the skin textures discern ? As in it feels more rough or woundy say? I'd trust doc on that, if your doc deals with skin issues, if not you can try looking for a skin doc for your own peace of mind. Also, check if your catto eats/drinks enough, poop is great and he/she is still playful. If so, your catto doesn't have any discomfort nor pain, so it's likely a visual "upgrade".

That is not the typical area we see pigmentation and that is quite a large area. You might try Malaseb shampoo. It is an antibacterial/anti fungal shampoo. Have you changed litter etc …could be yeast perhaps. @Mark Henke

Any update, my guy has the same type of thing. I posted pictures on a different thread. We have done skin scrapings, cytology, medicated sprays and shampoo, changed the litter, changed the food, all tests have come back negative for yeast, mites, bacteria, and everything else. Vet is now suggesting biopsies, which would require anesthesia and surgical removal of several spots of skin to test. It sounds rather drastic and I do not want to put him through that if I can avoid it.
