Black Tongue

Hello
I took my sphynx in for her dental cleaning as I do every year...but this year when I picked her up, I was told they put her on Clavamox to help clear up the little red bumps that I usually call prickly heat......well I didn't think anything of it..but 2 days later noticed my cat's tongue had turned black! Has anyone ever heard of this happening??? My vet called a specialist to consult...I was told to stop the Clavamox and return in 4 days....my cat is eating, sleeping, pooping and peeing--actully nothing different except for the black tongue, which is not cut or swollen--I am praying for her beautiful little pink tongue to return.What have I done?

I have never had that happen with Clavamox before.

i use to work at a vet's office and this has happened before it is a type of allergic reaction, not harmful just strange, i also know a women who has the same thing happen to her when she takes antibotics it will go away i promise! and nothing to worry about

Hi...My cat is 5 years old.....today the area does not look as black as it did a week ago....perhaps this is flushing out??

As long as It's getting better, just keep an eye on it!

OMG!!! Thank you!!!! I really wish this would have happend to me and not to my China!!!!! Today the area does not look as Dark as before..but then that could just be my wishful thinking.....I am blessed that you have this experience and knowledge and were willing to share!
