Hey! I’m new to this site and I have had a sphinx cat named monti for about 7 years now. He has had these blue bumps all over him, face body and tail. They look like blue pimples but some are getting really big. They don’t bother him and the local vets don’t know what they are. Any ideas? Thanks so much for the help

Sounds like sebaceous cysts... they can occur in people too (see the Dr. Pimple Popper show on TLC). They are usually not life threatening, but can burst and the open wound can become infected.

@Monti the chonk I would ask the vet to rule out sebaceous cyst or Follicular cysts ? ** Sweat gland cysts can appear bluish
Here is a chart that may help when you talk with his vet(* I do not call or contact - I use the chart as a reference )

Head smooches sent keep us updated !
My 8 year old has two bluish ones too forever when I adopted him
Discovered it on his inside front leg area and one on his side
I don’t poke at it and it doesn’t bother him
Other members have posted similar lumps but I have not seen a diagnosis update either

I am monitoring before any invasive procedures

For peace of mind you may get a second opinion or contact a local vet university

Can you show us the tail as well? When did this start and is it getting worse? Any change in food ? @Monti the chonk
No change in food, he got them when he was around 2 and he’s now 7. Here’s a photo of the tail. They don’t bother him whatsoever not even to the touch.

Very interesting. They look like little blood bruises under the skin. Has he ever cut himself or bled? Can you remember if he clotted quickly?
