Book of Eli, Sphynx in movie?

I found that a sphynx was in the trailer. I wonder if there is a sphynx in the movie? About 47 seconds into the trailer you can see a hissing sphynx!

I've heard the Sphynx is in the movie and at some point they kill him.

Yea, I was going to add that but couldn't remember if I remembered it correctly or not. Sounds sad, I doubt I watch it.

They do kill and eat him. I about had a heart attack when it happened, I was like HAY LOOK A SPHINX.. Then BLAM....... But really it's a great movie if you can get past the first 5 mins..

Thanks for the heads up. The movie sounded like it would be too much of a downer for me. Now I know it would be all the more upsetting to watch.
