I don't know how much food you've been giving her but it could be she just wasn't getting enough? I mean it sounds like she's hungry if she's crying for food. Also if you put food out for multiple cats, it could be one eats most of it and the other one goes hungry. Mine all eat at different speed so I have to separate them and watch them.

Other things it can be....
1. Is she vomiting? If they can't hold food down, they would lose weight.
2. You could have her tested for hypothyroid. This is just a blood test so it's easy and doesn't cost very much.
She does at times vomit but it’s usually bc she eats so fast and drinks too. It is always fresh. Undigested.

also yes I wondered about her thyroid too bc she has bloody type discharge from eyes. This has cleared up since I’ve been putting lysine in her food. She still has a runny eye but it’s clear. Allergies maybe?
She also gets cold and tries to be near warmth ( cable box or windows)
Today she isn’t feeling well.
Brody on the other hand is running and playing!
So idk. Probably take her back to vet. They even suggested that if she didn’t bounce back.
Thanks!!!

One other thing is she licks me and likes to lick my linoleum. Maybe licking me is for love but the linoleum I find odd.

Maybe she is deficient in something? It could also just be an obsessive behavior.

Eating too fast is really a dry food thing. The idea is they eat too much too fast, then it gets wet as it starts going through the cat's system and it expands. That's what makes them throw up. If they throw up wet food, that is a whole other story.

Yeah it’s usually the dry food. Or dry in with the wet. Never wet food.
She’s been sleeping a lot and now doesn’t always respond when called. Even if I say her name loudly. Other times she’s running and playing. I’m baffled!
I am giving her Tersaderm if this doesn’t change I’m taking her to the vet tomorrow if necessary. Please send prayers, hugs, positive vibes!

Not to worry you but losing weight is a sign. A pound on a cat is a lot. That would be throwing up 10% or more of her body weight and all because she eats too fast. Don't I wish I could do that ......but the faster I eat the more weight I gain. This is what usually happens. I would see a vet and request a complete blood count as well as the T4 (thyroid) test. You can ask your vet but that's usually the first diagnostic.

Weight loss could be accompanied by dehydration so also check for dehydration .....here is a link to a youtube video on how you would do this.

I will be starting a new thread for Pacey today.
Brody was acting a little off this am but bounced back after we got up and I fed him.
I am still PATIENTLY wAiting for the cardio to get back on his blood panels to see if his meds are working. Called my primary vet and they suggested I call instead of emailing them.
Prepare for a rant.. it just makes me mad bc these clinics are all into you and your pet when you are paying big bucks but afterward it’s crickets. They claim we will keep in touch with you about your cat but you hear nothing!! Now when it’s time for more testing I know they will make sure I keep my appts. ( multiple emails as reminders)Bc lord knows it’s $$$. Yet they fail to complete their side of it, as in NO emails when you reach out for questions or need results from tests that they didn’t get paid for. I have to bite my tongue for the sake of my babies. I feel sorry for those with less money and means to provide for their babies. I really feel some do genuinely care and they have to get paid but I wonder...
Okay off my soapbox. Sorry. Just sad and frustrated today.

I can understand that. So much of this world is motivated by money. It’s hard to know who has you best interests at heart.

100% my experience as well. The other thing you didn't mention is over the course of treatment your specialist might move on to another job and you will be handed over to a new one with no advance warning. The bigger the clinic, the bigger the revolving door. But we do it for our babies so hang in there, know what you are dealing with, and be persistent.

Well turns out my primary vet had not sent the panels to cardiologist.
I spoke with the cardio doc at length and she basically was frank and said my boy probably would only live another year. Outlooks aren’t so great with this.
I sat down and had a good cry. I am so upset. It’s just so frustrating and sad my time with him is short but I plan to make the most of it He is coming up on his 7th birthday too.
I know that many have gone thru this and some a lot sooner than o have! Idk what will happen with his sister when he’s gone and she will be alone. I now wonder how long she will live. It’s just so heartbreaking!
I wish I knew that “cat guy” secrect on how his cats lived so long. I’m devastated.
Sorry to be a downer. And any advice suggestions you name it please post.
Thank you all. Keep my boy in your prayers. Sending him hugs love and well wishes.
I will keep you all updated.

I'm so sorry. You certainly are not a downer; having this kind of conversation brings any normal human being down.

I think my suggestion is going to be take it one day at a time. Maybe it's a year or maybe it's a month or 5 years....if you dwell on that it's not going to help. I mean it's good to know what you are dealing with, but there is so much you can still do - think of that. Go on playing with them and petting them and keep them happy. You can break the food rules and give him junk food :) When he is acting not well, ask the cardio vet for help. I believe in quality of life and not just longevity, and you can still give him that. Same for his sister. She doesn't have the same problem but she will miss Brodie when he's not around so give her some extra love too. Just giving them a home, food and a safe sleeping spot is a bigger deal than we give ourselves credit for sometimes. You're doing great; hang in there.

We have dealt with heart issues...no one has an expiration date stamped on them. I took a couple of days after depressing news to just let it sink in...then righted myself taking peace in knowing nothing was different for our baby. They are happy, well loved and spoiled rotten. I am their world and darn it I am going to give them what they want...another day of love and the normal routine. They know nothing else...don’t rob yourself of the joy you have every day.

Thank you! You are so right. Gotta take it one day at a time and try to stay uplifting and not be upset for his and his sisters sake. I will enjoy each day! Thanks again

Thank you! I think I replied to your thread on someone else’s Lol.
Just stressed but I see your logic on taking it day by day bc who really knows what tomorrow brings? I will try to not get upset about it and enjoy them both and try not to think about it. Give them love and hugs and play with them everyday as before. Have to let Brody go at his pace.
Again thanks for your kind words!

The cardio place were going to send for the panels from my primary. I will find out tomorrow.
I am a little upset with my primary due to this fact and they acted like it had been sent. This is the second time this has happened and I plan to find out why also in the am. Im also wondering why the cardio only gave him a yr?? But I know online they normally say 6 months to a year and a half. My primary found this in the spring of 2018. Why they didn’t send me to cardio then? I’m not sure.
