HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS SKIN PROB. ON THEIR SPHYNX BEFORE?
Hello! I have a canadian sphynx, she s 6 months old. She got this at her tail and back foots since i bought her. At first i thought her tail is like this because of the door litter , but then after i took that door off and i sow that the prob is still there, i was worried.Beside this i noticed the same skin problem also on her legs ( i ll put photos) . I was watching old photos with her since she was at the breeder and she had those skin prob on her tail but not so accentuate. I didn t tought is something wrong. Those marks apear and sometimes the color is not that strong. She s 6 months old now. The vets ( i say " vets", because the hospital where i go with her it s very big and re so many doctors there) told me they didn t know what is this, asked me if i know skin problem in her genetics and i asked the breeder but he didn t answered about that ( he avoied the subject when i told him that the tails is like this since i got her), and i have to make her a lots of skin exams. I will do that. I love my cat very much, she s like my child and i ll do anything to her to be fine.
PS: srry my bad english. Hope u ll understand me. Thank you!

I haven't seen it, but I know some of the other people have skin problems with their babies. There doesn't seem to be anyone online today that has had the problem. The vets don't know what it is, no ideas at all??

The part on her foot looks like a pressure sore. Do you have hardwood or tile flooring? If so some soft beds and blankets are really the only remedy for that. The portion of her tail looks like pigmentation. I wouldn't worry unless the spot get larger, crusty or oozes

I agree it does not look infected etc. we often see darker colored babies have a variety of pigmentation variations on different parts of their bodies.

Our tuxedo girl has gotten very large blotchy patches from over sunning and then they disappear. If areas are not scabby, raw or raised it usually means pigmentation.

Thank you for reply! I have wood on the floor but it s normal wood and i also have carpets. I really don t think this is the issue. I have also soft beds and blankets for her... I don't know... the same thing about the fiits prob, told me also the breeder but i told him that i don t think so... 80% i don t think so. she s like my child and i take care of here. But this prob like i said in the post, was present since she was little... i m a new sphynx mom, i m scare... i want her to be ok. I hope this is nothing serious. I was really hoping that someone could told me what is this... ( ps: srry my bad english)

Hmmm not sure if I can find a pic. Last summer our darker girl had patches, but not this year. We put more blankets on the bed in our spare room and she prefers to burrow more than sit in the window thankfully lol.

@Catalina , what's your babies name? Hope you share lots of pics and stories of your baby :)

Thank you for ur reply. I ll ask my vet about entederm. We live in Romania and idk if we have the same medicine like u, but for sure they must have a clue about this medicine... i hope. It s strange cuz the hospital where i go with my sphynx bby, it s very big and expensive and the vets told me that they don t know, or this is the first time when they see such a think at a sphynx.... it s so strange... I ll make her the skin exams for sure 100%, but next month i think ... one of the reson on secound place is: money. Because i have to have prepare. I just payed a sterilization and was 200€ + (50€ other things like the taxi, some food for sterilitation-) and tomorrow i ll pay more :)) And those exams they told me that will be like 500+€ minimum . So i have to have the money also. Sometimes i fell that that hospital it s expensive for nothing. Every time when i go with her i pay minimum 100€ even if the cat it s fine. ( if i see a spot, i go to vet... i know it s not ok, i know... but she s my first pet ever and it s like my child and i want her ok). I spoke with a friend that she s a good breeder and she told me to change the vet... but idk where... this is the best in town ( it s close to me 15-20 min max with the cab) An example: They told me not to clean my cat ears by myself :)) just to pay at them 10€ and when i arrived home i try to clean her by myself cuz they didn t cleaned her so good. Anyway... idk what to do. It s " the best hospital" here and with non stop services/ ambulance etc. i knew that i ll spend money and i don t regret it, i ll do everything to know that she s clean and 100% healty. The problem is that they don t know what to tell me... at least like a posibility... sometimes i think they re stupids and they work only for money. For me money now will disappear :)) i also have to go at 2 weddings and in Romania you give like a gift in money at the wedding :)) so my wallet will be almost empty. Idk you guys, but i spend with Priya lots of money. I do not regret and i m always asking the best for her at the hospital, but sometimes i have the sensation that they re working there just for money!! But the main reson i decided not to do the tests now is that she just passed true an operation ( sterilization, exams etc) and i want to wait a lill bit more.
During that I WAS HOPING that someone had the same issue with their cat... ( i don t wish that at anyone, but just saying...)
My baby name s Priya and she s 6 months old. She s a canadian sphynx, blue. I love her very much!!! ❤❤❤
HOPE I LL FIND AT LEAST one answer about that before i ll make the exams, because i m worried. :(

I would just hate to see you spend a ton of money on the testing if it's not necessary. It really looks like normal skin. Hairy cats probably have a ton of skin spots we just don't see them. You've had 2 vets tell you it's nothing. I think the 3rd might just be giving you suggestions of what you could do for piece of mind.

My boy has white bumps in places and they are like skin tags or moles. My vet said hairy cats get them too! We just have no clue they are there.

If it was me I would just watch for any changes, puffiness, swollen or redness. Look to see if she's chewing, itching or excessively licking the areas. Cats behavior can tell you a lot about their health.

Thank you so much for ur advices. I ve watched her behavior and she s not chewing or licking the areas. And 4 vets sow that problem and the last one told me to make those skin exams because she never sow anything like that and it s not normal.... she scared me a lot. Today i hope i ll catch another vet to ask about this problem. In that hospital re 6 vets... i have 2 more to ask.
Thank you again! (srry my bad english)

I agree, appears to be pigmentation, and the foot could be just a slight irritation from a carpet or something she is frequently sitting or laying on. :)
