Today we took Rankle to visit my Nana. She's 96, got all her marbles and is a fan of Siamese cats (my love of that breed stems from her) so we thought she'd like to meet a sphynx. So, my husband and I dutifully fed Rankle and put him in one of his smart new jumpers for the trip. We'd nearly reached our destination when he threw up his breakfast all over the carrier. No probs, I thought, I'll shake it out in the gutter. This done, we went in and had a lovely visit. On the way home we'd planned to visit my great grandmother's grave but had to abort when Rankle started expelling from his rear end. To start with it was solid, and again I thought no probs, pull over when safe to do so, shake out blanket and proceed with journey; then the diarrhoea started. Cat freaked out in the carrier, got himself covered in it, husband and I are retching from the smell and there's nowhere safe to stop. Finally found somewhere we could pull over and luckily I always travel with baby wipes and plastic bags in the boot. So there we are on the side of the road trying to clean Rankle off as best we can getting covered in crap ourselves. I got the giggles which didn't help matters and we then had to drive the remaining 1/2 hour home collectively smelling like a cess pit with Rankle voicing his extreme displeasure all the way.
Needless to say, we won't be traveling unnecessarily with him again!
