Cat litter recommendations?

Just wondering if anyone can recommend the best cat litter? We only have a 4 month old kitten and the first week we tried unscented, clumping Arm & Hammer and it seemed to have very little odor control by day 6. I cleaned it daily and added more litter throughout the week. Also.. one breeder told me never to use clumping litter as it would coat the cats intestines? Even had it as a requirement in her contract. Any opinions? Thanks so much in advance!

Working in the pet industry...... customers swear by Worlds Best Cat Litter. Its not for everyone and some cats dont take to very well but customers LOVE it. They say its great for odor control etc.
P.S. Its pricey but if you go to their website right now I think they have a rebate or something :)

Hope this helps!

Your welcome!! I wish my kitties liked it but my older cat will have nothing to do with it. He is very "old school".:LOL:

Old school:BigSmile:
Yes, I'm a little worried about switching, as he's doing a great job w/ the litter box/litter and I would rather deal with the odor than have him go outside the box!

Clumping litter can cause Urinary issues.
I use Tidy Cats non clumping litter. I've always used Tidy cats. It controls odor as long as your kitty covers their messes.

I've used Fresh Step for about 30 years now and love it. Have never had any problems with it and it covers odors well.

I use Special Kitty From Wal-mart, in the Maroon box. I like it better then the more expencive brand of Clumping. It holds the clumps better and the odor control is great. I live in a 36 ft travel trailer with 2 cats and other than the days that I forget to clean it out, I don't smell it at all. Its not hidden either, Its on the bottom buck in the back of the trailer, so not behind closed door.

I've used Tidy Cats for many years but recently switched to Fresh Step, even though it's a little more expensive. Fresh Step seems to clump better and controls the odor for a much longer preiod of time.

One thing I really like about Fresh Step is that it's lighter than other litters. And that means a lot when you're limited in how much you can carry.

I don't know if you have a Valley Feed a/k/a Pet's Barn, but I use their 60 lb. bag of clumping litter and its $6.80 a bag, clumps great and odor control is fine, too. I sometimes add baking soda into the litter when I put fresh litter, but most of the time I forget.

I have had Niles on the Worlds Best Cat Litter for a little over a week. No dust, all natural, good odor control, and he likes it. He was on Fresh Step before but he was sneezing. I changed since WBC doesn't have dust like most others.

I was skeptical at first but it was recommended by my colleuges(vet clinic) as well as my favorite little pet store.

Niles had no problem adjusting. He is also 4 months old.

I use world best also, clumps well, odor control is okay. Husband says it smells like a barn when its humid out (it's like a hay smell) I use it because it's natural and the cat's don't mind it and there is so much less dust!

I use "The Worlds Best Cat Litter" for a few reasons: It is all natural- made from corn (great in case they eat it), it has the lowest amount of dust (better for the lungs) and it clumps really well. When nudie came to us, she was used to something different so we slowly added the new litter to the old until she was totally used to it. I think the best advise is always use what works for you (your pocket book of course) and whatever makes your cat use the litterbox :)

I so wish I could potty train our 2. That would be great. I don't have enough time or patience, maybe one day when the kids are grown up.
