For just cleaning, I use a warm face cloth. But that's to get the sleep/eye glop out beside the eye.
What are you looking for the eye drop to do? Clean the actual eyeball? If the actual eye ball is that dirty you might was to see a vet. There could be something causing an over production of eye gunk.
Hopefully someone has some experience, I havnt heard of using eye drops to clean out eyes. Just for adding moisture and infection.
Ok! Lol I also just use my finger if Astrid has wet eye gunk in the corner of her eye, and gently swipe it off. That face cloth helps get off the dried bits
@Amanda Zuleger I have always just wiped with my finger or a wet cloth also but haven't had any irritations of the eyes to deal with yet either. So glad you found your lil love and are learning all you can! The people here are WONDERFUL! Do you have any pics yet? We love when you share pics and stories of your adventures together!!!
I clean my boys' eyes every morning with very warm water on a disposable cotton square, wrung out well. Just today I started using colloidal silver for their eyes. After the usual wipe/wash, I wet a clean pad with it and do a swipe over the closed eye - have read it can help (not comfortable yet dropping it right in the eye). My guys have pretty gunky eyes - not infections or irritations at all that I know of, but just enough regular gunk that it needs to be washed away once or twice a day.
I do full face with a very warm washcloth and light qtip swipe of the ears each morning as well. I probably don't have to do their ears every morning but if I skip a couple days they end up with ear wax on their necks and each others :wideyed:.
