Never owned a Sphynx, never thought about owning a Spynx.... but now a Spynx owns me.
I work at a local Humane Society and my sister told me one day if I got a Sphynx in, she would like to adopt it because of her allergies. One came in and NOBODY could touch her. Owner surrender, they were moving. Declawed on all 4 feet, spayed and papered.
I donned leather gloves and managed to get her in a crate and took her home. Little did I know it would take months for her to want to be petted, and that she decided that she doesn't like anyone but my husband and myself.
6 months later, I kept telling myself she was a foster and even after my sister decided not to adopt her, I had a home lined up. When it came time for me to deliver her to her new home, I finally broke down and cried. I cannot image myself without her now.
My husband and I are in love with this cat. Who would have thought since we are dog people? The feeling is mutual and Cleo spends her nites under the blankets with us and following us around the house. We went out of town for one evening and when we got home, she acted like our dogs, she actually missed us!!!!
Cleo has made me fall in love with this breed, but moreso, in love with her.
Thanks for having me, I look forward to learning more about the breed.
