Cold or worse?

Hello everyone! I didn't think to put a thread here because I thought it was just a normal cold, but it seems to be getting worse for my poor baby Artemis.

Last week, Artemis had caught a "cold" or whatnot. I didn't think of it as much, she's had a cold before and it only lasted around 3 days maximum. Well, this cold hasn't gone away yet, and it's gotten worse. Every now and then she will stand in one spot and have a "sneeze attack" repetitively for around five minutes, then sit and stay in the same area. This worries me because she is usually very playful and doesn't sit in the middle of somewhere that isn't a bed or a carpet. She usually sits in front of the fridge or under the dining room table.
What worries me is that when she has these sneeze attacks, she looks like she's in pain. There are also times when she starts coughing non stop, which leads me to believe there is a substance (perhaps mucus?) in her lungs that won't come out. Is there anything I could do for this? I really want to help her :sorry:

You need to see a vet ASAP. This could be pneumonia. I don’t want to scare you, but they can go downhill very fast and it can become more costly the longer you wait. Please update us.

@chillinq88 , totally agree with a vet visit to rule out possible upper respiratory imfection or pneumonia .
Go with your gut - you mention Artemis looks like she is in pain with these sneeze attacks -
Definitely would get her treated by a vet-

Always best to nip anything that is brewing with a vet check and medications before it gets any worse -

Can you video tape the sneezing attacks to show us and your vet ?
Does she have any eye goop discharge ? If so , the color of the goop to mention to your vet too

Please keep us updated on sweet Artemis ..

I definitely would consult with your vet ASAP

Head smooches sent - please keep us updated often ((hugs))

@chillinq88 Also wanted to share many Antibiotics are free at local pharmacies -
And other medications are discounted thru goodrx.com
My vet checks goodrx sitje amd calls it it to the cheapest local pharmacy
(All you do is show the goodrx coupon code to the pharmacy when you pick it up-
I show my phone and never had a problem and there is no sign up needed with goodrx savings )

Another savings I compare for the medications is Walgreens family card -
It can be used for pets - I signed up for $35 for Walgreems family card
Amd saved a ton when I needed s stronger antibiotic "doxycycline " for my Batman
The card paid for itself amd they have a guarantee of you don't save

My vet and I always compare goodrx.com and my Walgreems card cost -
Walmart and Sam's club also do pet prescriptions

Just wanted to share

Thank you all for your kind words and information! I've tried convincing my guardians to help me get her better by taking her to the vet, but it hasn't worked thus far. It's gotten worse since I posted this thread, she's been having bowel incontinence (she can't control when she defecates) and has had 2 baths in the last 6 hours because of it.
My guardians are saying it's only a cold, but I believe it's much more than that. She's had a cold before, and it went away in about a week. This has been going on for almost 2.

I will update everyone on what's going on to get more information- I feel like I'm too young to be owning a special kitty like Artemis, but I love her too much to let her go- I've done research, but my guardians have not. That's the downfall of all this, they do not care enough to bring it to conclusion that Artemis needs another vet trip. This is the main reason I joined this site is to get information on how to do something I wouldn't know how to do with her- Thanks to everyone again for helping so far! <3

I’m not trying to sound rude here at all but I would really consider getting her into a situation where she can get proper care Have bad poo can kill a cat! Dehydration is a very real possibility.

@chillinq88 , agree completely with the advice given to go to the vet ASAP.
I would strongly encourage talking to your guardians again.
It is important to get treatment to nip things in the butt before they worsen to a more expemsive vet visit or worse -
Love alone and wishing our babies better sometimes requires medication .
Sometimes getting antibiotics from the vet to make things better .

When I go to the vet I ask to treat the symptoms - get some medications Amd a conservative treatment plan This way it keeps costs down Amd can always return of need be for more tests .
My vet will let me do payments .

Can your guardians call the vet and tell them the symptoms , give an update Amd see what the vet recommends?
We cannot diagnosis here but can give lots of support Amd information to share with Artemis s vet .

Here is a good video

Please please keep us updated - I know you love Artemis very much
((Hugs))

Although I understand all the advice given I also hear what you're saying about your guardians not allowing you to go to the vet with Artemis.

Is it possible for you to make a phonecall to the vet and explain the situation? Maybe the vet can help you and think about a way to help Artemis? The vet may be able to give you tips about what to do or can help you get the arguments to convince your guardians to go back to the vet with Artemis.

Are there other adults in your neighbourhood that can help you and Artemis?

Sending healing vibes to Artemis and a big hug to you @chillinq88
