Literally.
Tonight we lost two birds, we will take one for a necropsy tomorrow but really it isnt reasonable to go tonight. All birds are in quarantine. I wanted some time alone in the bedroom to pay bills and distract myself from the stress, so I had hubby take Peach into the other room. She is so snuggly, and I love her, but I wanted some alone time...
Well, that didnt last long. One of my ragdoll boys had Peach cornered behind the couch and she had runny nervous poops. As a bather (works with groomer) I've seen it before: runny, rancid poops. I doubt he was being violent, but they are all still learning about each other and Im sure he hissed or otherwise scared her. I had to give her an impromptu bath while it was still quite chilly in the house, wrapped her in a towel until she stopped shivering then got her sweater on (I made one for her, gotta share later) and cuddled her under the blankets. Of course she was worried hubby was mad at her, once they made amends she snuggled in earnest and stopped worrying and is wrapped around my arm now trying to sleep..
I feel bad for her. I know the pecking order is a process but my rag boys are HUGE (15 lb or so) and must be quite scary for her since she has only lived with other sphynx. Back to square one, tomorrow she will spend most of the day in the bedroom with her litter box and food here, and we will slowly reintroduce her until everyone gets along. She seems happy as a clam right now. Maybe she had an accident?
Sigh.
Hopfully tomorrow (er, later today, its 1 AM) will be better.
