Dark skinned sphynx with large dark spots all over?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking at getting my current sphynx/Devon mix a lifelong friend and recently saw this ad of a local sphynx pop up. She’s 2 years old and very adorable.

I noticed the obvious discolouration on the skin and asked the owner what they were. They claim they’re just spots where darker fur would have grown. I understand that is often the case but I’ve never seen anything like this before.

Just wondering if anyone has seen anything similar? She has the vet records and apparently there is nothing wrong with her.

I just want to be aware of what I may run into financially if it is a skin issue.

What are some blatant and obvious signs of fraud or scams have you read about or stumble upon? Have any tips to avoid fishy transactions and deals. I would love to know some pointers, feel free to share.

Definitely looks concerning to me. I think I would go see her and take the pictures with me. See if the spots have changed at all. You can also ask to take the cart to your own vet for a checkup before agreeing to purchase. That way you are only out the vet fee if it doesn’t work out, which you would have had anyways if you kept the cat.
