Should I deworm Siiri, our little new kitty? The breeder told me she hadn't done it, that she thought it wasn't needed when Siiri is so small. She's been through a lot anyway with vaccines and spaying. I dewormed Fisen before Siiri came in to our house, just in case. What are your thoughts on this?

@Bailey21 and myself dewormed our guys because we take them on a leash outside sometimes. I think its better to be safe than sorry but thats just me.

Consult your vet...they will probably advise to do it.

As far as I know deworming is what vets advice when a kitten wasn't dewormed yet

Have you taken in a poop sample yet?

Nope, should I? This is not custom to do here in Sweden unless you suspect things are wrong. I know the breeder does it...

Here in the US it us pretty routine to do one. It’s up to you, but if they are using some litter box and kitten has worms it is likely Fisen will get them or already has them. If you are worried, just drop off a poop sample. If it comes back positive, they will have you deworm both. It might ease your mind just to be sure.
