My boy, Beethoven, is about 6 months old. I bathe him at least once a week, maximum every three days, but he always looks dirty. He has brown spots everywhere, and the fur between his eyes and above his nose is an icky brown/green colour. I use a Burts Bees shampoo for kittens and I put olive oil on him after a bath for his dry skin. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to order a special shampoo for him?

I agree with Admin the oil is too much. I just wash Frida with a mild soap or sometimes just wipe her with a warm wash cloth with just water. Frida gets a full bath only once a month and her skin always feels nice and soft. That being said I think you can use the olive oil as admin suggests for the coconut oil. I personally prefer the olive oil because it is less comedogenic than coconut oil. I don't tend to find it necessary though.
Welcome to the lair and we love to see pictures so please show us your baby! Hope to be hearing from you lots.
