Good afternoon all :)
I am the happy mommy to two sphynx girls. They both have icky teeth. The vet says, for Sphynx, this is relatively normal (though they are only 2 and 3 years old). The older, who has the icky-er of the teeth, is sensitive to anesthesia and has had a heart murmur only when under stress. I am wondering what to do- gums are red, breath is stinky, and teeth are coated in plaques. To clean, or not to clean??
(I have tried brushing, gel, and water additives)
Opinions appreciated.
thank you,
Mina

What is icky to you? They can look black due to the oils from their skin and grooming. Our one boy has this…our vet said oral health is about their gums being healthy in this breed. Gum health just like in humans can also mean healthier hearts as well.

@NakedKittyMom22 , awh.. hugs n head smooches. have you looked into Maxigel? it's rub on. I just started on my pup and going forward with my senior nakids. my vets office stocks it but I found online at better price. its very thin liquid says to put on finger tip and rub gums. I use a swissper cotton cosmetic round. I was shocked, after 1 month use, it took off a chunk of tartar on my pups back tooth. will be trying on my nakids( one of which i was told had a heartmurmur so dont want him under anesthesia)
