distemperment shot

has any one ever gotten their cat a feline distemperment shot? or does anyone know any information on this? my fiance said we should get one for our female milky but i am kind of hesitant. i told him i had to check with my sphynx people first!

Do you mean the Distemper shot?
Cleo and Wrinkles just got thiers today.
Both of my sphyxn got the shots fromteh breeder before we got them also.
They are 3 in 1 shots.
Use the Purvax Vacine.
My vet talked to Cleos breeder to make sure they got the right shot.

yeah, i guess a distemper shot? pete said it is supposed to make the cat nice. Milky is nice but only sometimes. you cant hold her or pet her or anything--only on her terms. its so annoying especially because river is the complete opposite of her. are there any side effects?

I've never heard of a vaccination making a cat nice.

Is she spayed, that can help calm some pets down?

Where did he get that bs from?
The Distemper shot is so the cat does not get the disease.
All breeders give that shot before they send the cats.

I've never heard of vaccinations altering a cats temperament. Apart from I've had cats sulk after a vets visit, but they've never made them happier.

Have you tried Feliway? Its a plug-in that releases 'happy hormones' that are meant to help calm a cat down.

You can also try Rescue Remedy.
I tried both Rescue Remedy and Feliway with Cleo at a show and she still acted bad.
Shots are not to make cats nicer.
There are pills but would not use them.

The only injection i know.....is in the Netherlands called a Tardak injection.....but it is used for studs who are getting spayed....so the male testosteron is immediately gone.....so they stop pie-ing around when they are with their new owner....
But i've never heard about a injection for temperament or behavior

Silly4lilly, are you sure Pete wasn't pulling your leg??

I can see where he might think "distemper", "dis" (meaning to disable) and temper (her bad temper), but no, it is a vaccine against the disease distemper.

It is avery bad disease and kills so many cats.
