Does anyone else’s cat hang out in the litter tray?

Several times now I’ve found my boy just hanging out in one of his litter trays, and I find it so weird haha! He has two and I keep them very clean but still seems so odd to me...

Maybe your kitty is just enjoying looking out the window. Mine does her business and sprints out and up the stairs so fast you would think she saw a ghost! I also keep mine very clean.

Yeah I would say the warmth from the window and the litter probably feels nice and warm too!
I would maybe worry about bacteria growing potentially by having the litter box by the sun (warmth + light) just a thought

@Remy its because the trays are in the sun. Maybe put something nice near the window so he can enjoy that spot comfortably.

This is his little room, he has an entire sofa to lie in the sun on haha but still chooses to sit in the tray!

One of ours went through a phase of sitting in the freshly cleaned litter tray. Not sure why, and it passed (the phase, not the cat) fairly quickly. I just chalked it down to cat gonna cat just to keep hooman guessing.
