Hey Lairians! Does anyone have any experience with Donskoy, aka Russian Sphynx, that can share with me? The resources for that breed are slimmer than for the Canadians!

We are searching/waiting for a female sphynx to join our tribe. I’m entertaining the idea of her being a Don Sphynx, however it seems that will be nearly impossible. There doesn’t seem to be any good, quality DS breeders stateside. If you know of a reputable Donskoy breeder, please PM me the name!

@denise irwin Oh mom, you make me laugh. Donskoy is another breed of sphynx cat. Our guys are Canadian Sphynx. Donskoy have a flatter face I believe (I might have that backwards), and their eyes are more slanted. I believe there's a good video someone posted on here comparing the differences in the two. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: here's a link to the video I mentioned above that another member had made for a college/university project that I remember watching.

@Bailey21 thanks for attaching that vid! Pretty cool!

@Toa and Ross I found a beautiful litter from a greet breeder, however they are in Spain. :( I don’t feel comfortable shipping an animal so far, and courier delivery is outrageously expensive. I have major kitten fever!

Side note: My breeder (Kenzo’s) had a new litter yesterday! Crossing fingers and toes his sister is in there!

@Toa and Ross @Bailey21 Different parents. It was Kenzo’s grandpa from his moms side and half-sister from his dad’s side, lol. Unfortunately, this litter didn’t produce the girl we hoped for. Kenzo’s mom is on a break, and her and the other mamas won’t be bred again until after their yearly HCM scans, so the wait is on. We found a beautiful girl from another breeder, but I need to do my research before I make a decision.

Dublin is a Donskoy. I agree with you. There are not enough Donskoy breeders in this country

I'm currently waiting for a (Donskoy) kitten from Russia arriving in December. I agree. The courier fee is a little steep, but that goes back to there being too few choices of good breeders here in the states.

@Dublin Riis He is amazingly handsome! Do you have more photos to share? My fascination with Donskoys is new. I’ve never met one in person, and I’m curious how they feel!

I haven't figured out how to get all this info on one post, because I'm not saavy with the computer. Sorry....age. Donskoys feel like any other bald cat (if you've ever felt them). It's like our skin, or it may resemble the feel of Playdough.
Some cats will eventually grow whiskers and some don't. Dublin happens to have enough whiskers to make a hat (LOL).
