Hi

I was hoping I could get some help here. I keep reading about fillers in dry food and just getting a bit confused. What are some of the best dry foods without fillers. I have them on Iams/Authority brand and they seem to do ok. I just want to have them on the best food.

The vet recommended Royal Canin but not sure about the first 4 ingredients are Chicken meal, rice, corn gluten meal, which from what I understand is alot of fillers.

the Iams is Chicken, Chicken By-Product Meal, Corn Meal, Corn Grits.

The Authority is Chicken, Chicken Meal, Brewers Rice, Corn Gluten Meal

So to me the Authority seems to be the best of the three with chicken as the first ingredient and no by product.

If anyone can help me out that would be great. There is so much info out there and it seems vets push the food that they have some connection with.

Thanks

tess

I really like Acana brand but they're are so many good ones now a days! It also has bit of pumkin in it good for these cats as I know they are sensitive to get loose stool easy. things I look for 1) No by-products 2) no corn 3) can't have the word"meat" could be anything! Lyseine is good, omegas good, lactobacillious ?( spelled simular )Is great! Iams is garbage, science diet not great either:Dizzy: Just my two cent:Laugh:

Tess, you're right to be questioning food with fillers in it. The other members have given you some great links to visit. If you have further questions on food, don't hesitate to ask---that's what we're here for.
