Hi all,
I sometimes struggle to find definitive answers for questions related to the breed online, so I figured joining a community comprised of people sharing similar experiences might be beneficial!
I adopted Early, colloquially referred to as "Turkey" or "Turkey Boi", in early April. He turns 10 years old in February, so he's starting to get up there in age. He doesn't do much in the way of playing now. He mostly just sleeps, eats and headbutts me into the next county. I briefly dated a girl who'd take care of Early and his younger brother while their owner was away. Their owner wanted to find an adopted parent for Early, so I immediately jumped at the chance!
We built a strong chemistry through our frequent visits, so he was already comfortable before the big move-in. It still took a bit of acclimating, for sure! I haven't owned a pet in 10+ years, and the Sphynx being a very needy breed provided its own share of unique challenges. But, overall, it has been a great last few months. It's nice to come home and find a little alien here vying for my love and attention.
