Hello again,

ButterBall seems to have an over abundance of eye boogers. I'm thinking it's just harder for him to keep dirt out of his eyes than a normal cat with hair. They are brown in color and seem to occur right after napping. I am wondering if I need to be concerned. Kat Von D from the Discovery Channel uses eye drops for her sphynx. Do any of you? And do your sphynx's have eye boogers too?

Yes eye boogies are common in both my sphynx,my wife picks them out,(yuck) i can't be bothered, although they would bother me if she didnt pick them out.So i think it's normal although make sure eye boogies is not a discharge, yellowish or green.:tinysmile_angry_t:

Meecho gets them alot too, but her are more clear in color. Maybe because I clean them out as soon as I see one. I asked her doctor about it and said that she can perscribe some eye drops, but since they don't seem to bother her and only me we decided to hold off on them.

I think the discharge from the eyes is really clear and it is from having no hair so they have more, the brown comes from the stuff on the skin that leaves A spot wherever they lay so unless it's yellow or green it is ok. Mine do hate that I am always picking at the corner of their eyes to get it out but to bad. My male does get more than my female but I think that is because she is always cleaning her self and he could care less! Typical man!:tinysmile_grin_t:

All my sphynx have this, more or less, and more or less brown/red.
Sometimes I clean their eyes with "saline baby" (eyes drop like tears used for the babies).
