Took the dogs out and looked up and saw this big blue heron hanging out on top of the pool cage. (there is a small pond behind my house). Many herons nest in the oak trees around the two ponds here. They herons usually are at the bank of the pond searching for food or fish.. so neat. he stood there while I walked the dogs by the pond. love hearing the babies in the heron nest, sounds like Jurassic Park all day

I was watering my plants a few feet away for about 10 minutes and he stayed there just like this. **note the sharp beak can be piercing. I was trying to get the softshell turtles in the water background too.

pulled in the driveway and saw this sweetie feasting on the firecracker bush.

Raven loves her aussie besties. I take the boys out and she waits for them to come back inside for some Raven Lovin. a little facial she is giving Gunnar. then she is off for her turn to "go for a" walk on her lead/harness

Raven, 18 and 3/4 yrs old!
waiting for her "go for a" walk on her harness.
she lays on the firepit cover all the time. I think she likes it when the metal lava rock cover underneath warms in the sun.
she is a shedding machine this month. brush her 2x a week!

Is Raven a Bombay?

@tuffysmommy , I always thought she looked like a bombay, or at least bombay genes.

Raven came to me when she was 2 yrs old. She jumped out of the back of a furniture delivery truck at my neighs. she immediately ran over and started following me when I was walking my two rottties together, Max and Duke. she followed all around the block right to my door . I called the furniture company and asked who was the stop before my neighbors. he gave the phone number. I called the gal and asked if she was missing her black cat. she said yes and she was not driving 30 minutes to come get her. she said, go ahead and keep her saying she is moving anyway, that "the cat" is 2 yrs old and spayed. never gave her name. So I named her Raven . blessed to be her furever mum.

Sweet!! Raven sure needed to het away from that bad home. She must have known what she was doing.

MyBoy was a feral with a smidgen of white under his chin. Back nose and toebeans. Always thought he had those genes too but he was so wild.
