Have any of you ever had REALLY furry kittens in a litter? We checked out some donskoy cats last week and saw these cuties. wondering what they are like as far as shedding, etc. Any advice/ideas?

I've seen donskoy with fur coating called "brush". Maybe they are born totally furry and then drop some?

I have 2 Donskoys. I've never seen them with fur like this. I prefer the brush coat overall, but no promise if the thickness of it remains or if they'll keep it at all. If I knew the fur stays exactly how you'd like, I'd get a brush coat in a hot minute. Would Assume any cat with hair will shed....but only ass-u-ming

I've got a Donskoy and have done quite a bit of reading on them now, and have never seen one with that much fur. Have you seen both parents? The most hairy type of fur they can have is brush and it's nothing like that. It's usually short fur that can be dry or curly, or smooth and straight. But not usually that long. This is my fuzzy Donskoy, his fur type is brush, it's thinned out quite a lot on his back but stayed longer on his face, legs, and tail. And he's only 4 months old so it could still change. I do love his fuzz tho.

OMG! @joseph73cf I was just sent pictures from my (new) kitty's breeder of Donskoys. She was showing photos of the mother and dad of my kitten. There were LOTS of photos of Donskoys with long hair. What I noticed was that the hair appeared more wiry than straight. Not to say there aren't any out there with straight hair, but these were not. They were so cool looking

Hi Joseph, This is my Sphinx/Donskoy cross. She was fully furred until 6 months then started to lose hair. She was spayed 2 months ago but as you can see from the phot her hair on her hip will not grow back!!! I would strong advise if you are spaying your kittens to ask the vet to not go in on her side as they will end up like Pharoah
