She's not a Sphynx, but my friend's kitty Lilo is at the emergency vet. Not sure what's wrong yet, she just got listless and unresponsive. Please send her good thoughts. Will post when I hear anything. Thanks!!!

I don't know her exact age, but I think she's "middle-aged." Sad thing is her housemate, Oliver, is just recovering from surgery for a nasty abscess. Now their kitty mom has TWO sick babies to care for.

No word yet...waiting to hear.

Thanks for your prayers and good thoughts.

Here is the update from Lilo's mommy:

Her temperature was dangerously low. The vet said it likely meant that her body/system was shutting down. I completely died inside upon hearing this. She couldn't move. She just laid in whatever positions the vet and his aid left her in when they were done handling her, squeezing her, etc. It was agonizing. I still could't believe this is happening. It is as though everything horrible that could go wrong in my life, is going to go wrong. My poor, sweet little girl. I am in shock every day at how bad this year was. It has to stop somewhere. It just has to.

The vet said she wouldn't have made it until morning.

They called around 8pm with an update.

They think - and are hoping - it is an infection via a cyst she developed on her head.

The fix, for now, is a simple round of antibiotics.

No news on Lilo yet this morning. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I did pass on to Kirsti that you were all pulling for dear Lilo.

Will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Looks like Lilo has renal failure. I just e-mailed Kirsti with some info and links, because we've had two cats go through that whole mess.

Thanks again for your prayers and support. Hopefully they've caught it early, and with proper nutrition and supplements she'll be around for a long time!

I can help with that.
In fact if she needs meds I have Cocos meds left over and we give them to her.
One is a full bottle.
I know CRF so well and hate that your friends cat may have it.
Most the people here know Cocos story.
The end was so bad a few months ago.
Please let me know if she needs anything.
What are her numbers?

I don't know yet. I e-mailed Kirsti and asked her about the labs. I've had two with CRF, so am also VERY familiar with it.

I gave Kirsti the link to this thread, so hopefully she'll see your offer and get ahold of you if she needs anything. Thanks SO much!

Coco was not my first CRF cat either.
How old were your cats that had CRF?
i hope her cat will be ok.

Mr. Pibb was diagnosed with CRF when he was around 9. With proper diet, supplements, and vigilance he lived to be 15. He was also diabetic.

Fred, my other CRF boy, is still kicking at 16. He was diagnosed about 7 years ago, and is doing just fine.

One of Kirsti's friends has posted some information and a PayPal donation link on another site. PM me if you would like the information.

Lilo is still at the vet, receiving fluids and medications. Kirsti is a wreck.

This just in:

Lilo is home! She is doing a little better today. We are resuming her treatment at home (IV fluids, medications, special diet), to see how she does and determine how advanced her kidney damage is. BIG THANKS to all who texted/emailed me today to ask how she was. Your support was much appreciated. And special thanks to KIMBERLY who rocks my world.

I'm glad to know she is doing a little better. Hopefully being at home helps ease her some so she can recover better. Please continue to keep us posted.

All fingers and paws crossed here for you and sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers.
