I'm so sorry I haven't kept everyone here updated on Gem, it's been a very stressful, trying week!
Gem had her surgery on Friday, the surgery went very well and was a complete success. She now has metal plates, wires, and pins holding her legs together. They told me when I dropped her off Friday that it'd be at least Wednesday before I could go get her - Well, Gem had other ideas LOL She did so well, and wasn't happy being caged at the vets all the time, so they called me yesterday and said I could come get her, 2 days earlier then anticipated! Her leg is still swollen, but not NEARLY as bad as it was, considering it's been a week since she broke it, I'm impressed at how well she's doing! Fighting some GI problems right now, but with the antibiotics and pain meds she's on right now, I'm not really that surprised. Making her chicken, rice, and canned pumpkin for lunch, hopefully that'll help settle things down some! I'm already struggling to keep her quiet and keep her from jumping around - She is ALL puppy, and feels much better! Right now she's decided to slow down and take a nap on my chest, such a sweet little baby girl!
I will try to keep you updated, but between working on getting the national sphynx rescue up and off the ground, taking care of Gem, working on getting fundraisers up and running to pay off her vet bills, and everything else I already had before any of this, I'm CRAZY busy! I will update when I can! I'll try to post some new pics of Gem later today
