Wasn't sure where to put this on the forum..
I am having trouble getting samples from my babies this time.
My girl cat is fast and my boy sneaky!!
They are a little over 3 1/2 yrs old if that helps.
They have two litterboxes and they are both inside of foldable cloth crates with netting on sides. I bought at Walmart.
Any advice would be welcome!! TIA

If you can't sneak up on them with a ladle then you can try having the litter box empty. Sometimes they will still go in it and then it's easy to collect your sample.

Stool samples are usually best if collected within 24 hours of the appointment. If you have multiple cats then confining them or monitering them and immediately collecting are your best bets. It's gross but if the appointment is like the next day you should put the stool sample in in the fridge. Inside a baggie of course! Urine sample is harder. Usually the best thing is for the vet to use a needle and take a sterile sample directly from the bladder. Otherwise sometimes of needed they have your kitty stay at the clinic for a while and go in a sterile litter.

I'm assuming I would have to have vet keep them overnight if they got samples?
I will try leaving the litterbox empty and see how that goes and then be sure to store 24 hrs in fridge if need be!
Thanks to all of you!

If you know about the time they go, you could take them before that maybe? Depending when they go at the vets it shouldn't have to be over night

It really isn't that bad I promise. It's a tiny tiny needle and it they barely notice. It's the best way to get a nice sterile sample though. Think of that!
