I thought it was odd that someone was adopting out male/female kittens purebred sphynx 11 weeks on oodle, but decided to go for it. The person who responded stated that her husband was to be transfered and wanted to money, but good home for the kittens. Then, things got strange (evasive answers...asking about shipping, even though we're both in NY)..and anyway, in the end, I actually had my hopes up because it seemed it was going to happen and I got a wierd reply "So you DON"t want the kittens, after all?"..this was after I provided my contact info and an intent to make an adoption fee and pick them up. When I asked why they were simply giving such valuable kittens away and from where did they come (breeder)? I got no answer. And, when asked repeatedly to call me or let me call them..they were "too busy".

I decided to leave this person's email addy here after this disappointing experience. I would have been so happy if it were real :-(

Look out for this person: Lenoral Lynnda <[email protected]>

I can't explain what happened, or why, but be wary of ads in the future...Mary

This is why they took the pet classifieds off of yahoo, the people advertise and expensive pet , (sphynx) and they use english bulldogs alot, say it is free:Surprise:, they start out being local, then tell you that they have been deployed ( very sad) and all you have to do is wire them the cost of shipping, A few hunded $ and when you get to the airport there is no pet. There is no way to get the money back because you wired it they usualy ask for western union and since you did not really pay for anything just shipping there is no way for anyone to do anything about it so it is kind of A legal scam:Angry: The pray on people wanting A cool pet for little $ and that do not ask question (once you start asking they do not get back to you) The pics are stollen from A real breeders website and if you look hard enough you will find them. This happend to me and A friend when looking for her dog, we found the same picture with the same dog and same man holding it. When we called the real breeder she had said she new about it and had to redo her site because of it:Angry: Another reason I belive in visiting the breeder before you do anything! So sad crap like this goes on! Mean people suck!

Generally speaking, just for a reference, anyone selling a kitten at a price "too good to be true" generally means that you'll spend a really grand amount on the kitten...
If not in adoption fee, then in trying to nurse it back to health. Cheap animals are usually that way for a reason. Remember, some diseases will keep you from having
pets again in the future because your house is tainted...so even a "good deal" can turn out to burn you in the end (and for a long time!).

It's best to go with a reputable breeder, no matter how you cut it.

Yes, emphasis on the word "reputable". Unfortunately, there are some sphynx breeders out there who are big-time scammers, too. It's best to really do one's research before purchasing a sphynx even from a breeder.

When I was looking for a kitten I also looked on Oodle, but after seeing all the far fetched prices I decided to look for a breeder in Cat Fancy. All breeders are reputable there. :)
