got some new ear piercings today

I've been wanting to get my ears pierced again for a while. I used to have a third piercing on each lobe and 3 cartilage piercings but they were bothersome and I took them out. They never healed right.

So on a whim today I decided to go! I was at the hairdressers and mentioned I'd been wanting to and she was like why don't you! And the shop is one block down. I had heard great things about that tattoo/piercing shop and they have a good reputation too.

Well, I couldn't decide which piercings I wanted more so I got all the ones I wanted all at once. I got a third lobe piercing on each side, a helix (upper cartilage) on my left ear and a conch on my right ear.

I discussed the past issues I had with similar piercings and the artist said it was due to getting them done with a piercing gun as opposed to a needle. Also I did all the things you're not supposed to that I didn't know like touching it, rotating the ring, and more.

So hopefully I'll have better luck this time. That was my great adventure for the day . Sleeping on my back tonight for sure.

That's awesome! If you don't mind me asking, where are they positioned on your ears? Did you get them done over time or?

I wouldn't rule out getting a couple more if I have good luck with these

They go from the bottom of my lobes up to the middle of my ears. The last two are considered cartilage. I wear silver rings in all of them. Small ones it looks really cool, but Alice keeps chewing on them....

I've debated getting another set or even a single in the top cartilage but the last three times it got infected when I did it that high up.

I've found with my piercings when they are "fresh" if I got shampoo or conditioner on them and didn't wash them off all the way they would get infected.

I only have 5 piercings in my ears right now. Two lobe peircings on each side and a cartiledge piercings on my left side. I did it myself one night when I was bored. lol

Also have my tongue done but I never wear it because I just had $5000 worth of dental work last year and I don't want it all messed up again. lol So I usually only wear it on Halloween. lol

Well, I suppose I'm the boring one here then!
I only have 2 piercings, one on each ear. I have always wanted to get one put above each of them them, so I would have two on each ear, but have always made excuses not to get it done. I agree, pictures of yours! I would love to see how it looks!

And yes piercing cartilage (or body piercing period)with a gun is bad.

I have 4 in each ear, a helix in my left and an industrial in my right. I also have my nose done. I used to have my brow, labret and tongue as well. I took my brow out as I had had it so long it was growing out and bothering me. My labret was rubbing on my gums and my tongue was starting to annoy me so I took those out.

My job requires me to dress "appropriately" for the corporate world so to speak, but surprisingly no one ever said a word to me about them. I was never asked to remove them, even when I was attending a meeting with VP's! I get more comments about my ever changing hairstyles and hair colours at work than I ever do or did my body jewelry!

I love that look! My sister's best friend has piercings all the way up her ears I'm not sure how many. I asked my sis today how many she has but she didn't know.

I had the same experience- I as I mentioned I used to have 3 cartilage piercings and the 3rd lobe but took them out because they seemed infected and weren't healing after some time. But the pamphlet I was given this time says what to do and what not to do- and I did so many of the do not do things last time! So I'm really hoping this time will be different.

My pamphlet says avoid rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, anti bacterial soaps because they are destructive to newly forming cells and can kill cells needed for healing. Also it will dry out and irritate the piercing causing scarring and prolonged healing which can make it prone to infection. ALL of these I used last time.

So what I am using is a product H2Ocean Purified Ocean Salt Water 2x per day. Then I can do a 10 min soak with sea salt and water per day. And few times per week apply Tea Tree Oil.

Sophie has never bit my earrings but she bites my rings often!

I got my ears pierced going on 40 years ago and the piercing and recovery was so miserable I'd never voluntarily go through that again. Course my piercing involved a bottle of premixed vodka screwdrivers, some rubbing alcohol, a darning needle, and a piercer who helped with the vodka. I imagine things are different nowadays?

I worked at AOL for 5 years and i was amazed at what you could get pierced ! lol I had coworkers who jingled when they walked or turned their heads heh. I got my lobes pierced at... age 21. I was so anti girly before that LOL i tried the two in each lobe thing and its SOOO not me. one of the extras closed up, on closed up only at the back so ive accidently re pierced it in a rush to get out the door lol. i always think i have it in the bottom hole but its crooked so i have to be careful. im surprised it doesnt hurt much. No vodka involved lol

It was years ago and I was showing off my pain tolerance. A friend of mine even has a video of me peircing my own nose! lol That was crazy and hurt much worse than the ear! lol

It was okay. I didn't like how I did it and felt I did it wrong so I let it heal up and then had it redone by someone who knew what they were doing,,kept it for only 8 mths or so..it was just too annoying. lol

Great pictures ladies. When I was young back in the 80s I had a short asymmetrical haircut with a tail. I still have one piercing in one ear and 3 in the other but usually I wear just one earring in each ear as I don't have the time to deal with jewlery anymore.
