Isn't that what Piglet does? I thought it was about her at first! It's very true that animals are the best medicine. I was poorly just before I got Mo and I'm so much better having him!

Yep, Sam, that's exactly what Piglet does and she's registered with the Delta Society just like the sphynx cats in the article. Piglet is not the ONLY sphynx therapy cat in the US, but she is the ONLY one (so far) in the state of Colorado!

nbolin, you may want to check the website www.deltasociety.org or http://www.deltasociety.org/Page.aspx?pid=367 to find a Pet Partners program in your area (do the affiliate group search). Contact the local organization(s) in your city/state to see about getting signed up for a workshop or training. I'm lucky that the animal therapy organization in Colorado, Denver Pet Partners, is so active and organized, but there are other good groups in other states, too.

Thank you!!! This was very helpful. My only confusion is it doesn't tell you where you can get the evaluations done at, it only explains what the evaluations are??

If you go on the bottom of the page, where it says "affiliate group search", you should be able to put in your state and country and it'll list on the bottom what groups, if any, are located in your area. I dont think Delta's search feature is the best, though; you may want to try these links instead:

http://www.activitytherapy.com/us.htm

http://www.therapypets.com/animal-assisted-therapy-jackies-list-aaa-aat-evaluators.html

http://www.landofpuregold.com/rxb.htm

Hope this helps!

Here's a couple of AAT groups that are located in Georgia: http://www.dogsaver.org/dreamworkers/

Thank you so much! That was a big help. unfortunately I can't find anything thats not like 4 hours away :( Everything listed is around Atlanta. I am in Kingsland, which is in southeastern GA :( I am thinking I will call his vet, and or the humane society tomorrow. Maybe they will know something. i will be pretty sad if there really isn't anything around here :(

Dang! It's a bummer that the only two groups located in GA are located so far away from you! Unfortunately, these AAT groups do tend to be located closer to larger metropolitan areas. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll find something in your area....good luck to you and Kreacher!
