A Facebook friend of mine in Australia made some pants for her Devin Rex cat that sprays alot. She uses a deconstucted sock and some elastic and pads them with pieces of sanitary pads. Iam not that crafty and looked them up online--found only one reference and it was from a long time ago--with no new information other than an overseas phone number to call. Does anyone out there know where I could buy some or have a pattern to make them? My Moody sprays like a trooper! If not, does anybody have any other suggestions? I'm getting desperate here...he even sprays me occasionally.

hi susi, i'm not familiar with kitty pants but wanted to ask if you ever tried a Feliway? I had a neutered foster who sprayed like no tomorrow. i was so worried he'd never get adopted, but he stopped marking about a week after starting Feliway diffuser and after I cleaned all the old spray areas with Nature's Miracle and then Feliway Spray. He was adopted into a single cat home and they don't used Feliway and he's not marking. Just a thought. If you look up Feliway on amazon.com there are lots of reviews that may help you decide if it's something you'd want to try.

You have my sympathy it can be so frustrating to deal with spraying!

I already use Feliway  I have two girls in heat at the moment, and he is just beside himself--the spraying has now become outrageous. Grrr!
But thanks for trying to help!:Woo:

why don't you try putting on a diaper (smallest size)......i've seen breeders here in the Netherlands who use them on their spraying studs

Hey, I hadn't thought of human diapers--especially now that they make preemie sizes--that just might work!
Thanks for the idea--going to try it! I get :Dizzy: from following him around with a mop.
Hugs, Gizmo!

We had this problem with Leo, it seemed to be more when Athena was it the bedroom with her babies and he did it to try to help her find him. We lock him up in A room with A litter box for 2 days and then when we let him out if he did it again back to lock up he went. He did get the point but everyonce in A while we have to do it again.
We are in the process of taking all the carpet out of our house!
As far as the diaper I would be to woried that this will cause him to hold his pee when he has to go and will cause A infection.

Boy oh boy...hadn't thought of that. The trouble with locking up in a room with a litter box is that I don't have room for that--all my space is dedicated, but I'll ponder it for awhile and come up with something. I had my carpet removed this summer over it. I had vinyl put in at the recommendation of the floor specialists--I got a high end vinyl that looks like laminate wood flooring. Moody has become quite an expensive boy! If you are interested, am attaching pics of how the floor turned out. Am very happy with it--now can mop up all the sprays...Grrrrr! Instead of just finding them with my nose later on.

I know someone who put a diaper on her "hoser" and she says it worked perfectly. He thought he was still spraying all over the place, but the diaper caught everything!

Susi,

Try searching the term "Stud Pants". I know there's a lady who makes cage curtains and I think she sells stud pants too. I don't have boys, so I didn't really retain the info, lol. I'll see if I can find the link and pm it to you.

I LOVE your floors!

Floors look great, we are in the middle of doing something like that now to the 2 rooms we had carpet in, everything else is already wood. We worked on one room all weekend and are having trouble getting up the old floor we thought there was just carpet but turned out layers of carpet and the stick tile floor that has been on for like 90 years and will not budge:Angry:
If you don't have extra room just try the bathroom it says so use A small room anyway, its only 2 days. Good luck I know this problem is not fun at all!

Then where do I go??? Am too big and don't have good enough aim to use the litterbox...
Really, I only have one bathroom and he would dart out like a flash, so that won't work. I guess I could use my laundry room...so he could really hose down the rest of my clothes. Just wish he'd quit it!
But guess you can't get mad at a cat for being a cat.
Much love to all,
Susi
