We've had George a little over a month now and he still has no clue what-so-ever what his name is. I can say it over and over and it doesn't even phase him. Does it take a long time for a kitten to learn his/her name?

I bet he knows the sound of a bag of treats opening up, right? Try saying his name every time you open that bag of treats. I bet he'll very quickly start to respond to his name!

Chadwick knew his name when I brought him home, but then again, I met him about a week and a half before I brought him home and the breeder would call him by name in that time. Chadwick also answers to almost anything I think to call him, too. I think maybe your Sphynx has a rare condition where he actually has some feline characteristics! Hahaha

 I was thinking that, too! He probably knows his name and is just ignoring it....cats and their "selective hearing"...only listen when they feel like it!

I think they to answer to the tone they are used to I yell Lechos, chena (nick names) and they come running! Admin can yell till he is blue in the face and nothing, So he will say can you call the cats? :Surprise:

I agree that it's all in the tone. my fiance and i have about a million nick names for our cats and we always call with the same tone in our voice and the boys will come running. even when i call out "cat food" with 'the tone' at dinner / breakfast time they come running from where ever they are in the house.
So just try to use the same tone when calling your boy.

I think he might also be confused because my boyfriend refers to George by like a million nick names. Sadly he will perk up when called "crack head." (I do not like this....)

 Sorry, I can't help you. Not one of my 4 I have now know their "real" name since I have so many nicknames. It's my fault. "Crack Head" is one we haven't tried though. It doesn't seem to fit a spynx kitten at full speed, doesn't it

Crack Head would be the perfect name for my monster when he's racing through the house at full speed and literally bouncing off the walls! I don't know what they put in cat food these days (maybe crack), but he only does this after eating. *scratching my head*
