was talking with my vet yesterday and she uses products from healthy mouth .
Anyone ever tried the oral gel or water additive with your dogs or cats?

@NinaGato , your review of the Zymox? Do you think it helps ? Do they notice it in the water?

I use the Zymox ear products t,hey work great
Saved a lot of money on vet bills
Didn't know zymox has a water additive

Can I just mix the Zymox in a gallon comtainer and put in fridge daily to use ?
Like the healthy mouth instructions

@NinaGato @Zab

This chart from their website
Healthy Mouth | Dog, Cat, Horse

I called the company since I have multi pet household .
The rep said the cat water additive has added taurine and salmon oil flavored .

Apparently the cats can drink the dog version of the product thst does not have the salmon oil flavoring .

Still researching this product line .

the dog version is to add a tablespoon and teaspoon to a gallon jug.
Compared to other less expensive water additives , it appears I would use less .
It may be more cost effective in the long run . Supposedly it has studies done and approval compared to other brand water additives . (More details on the website.

In the meantime I ordered the dogs Oravet dental Chews (after my Aussie got his recent dental they give a "complimentary " small box - the vet gives to her dogs . I asked about blockages since I know greenies have caused some issues -
She has not had any associated problems with Oravet dental chews for dogs or the
Healthy mouth products

Hopeful some members can chime in with their experiences with the healthy mouth products .

I will be researching further of course :)
Reading up on an lengthy article now at skeptvet

No studies as of yet on cats
So will probably stick to brushing for now

Until I see someome chime in and talk further with my vet specific to use in cats

The zymox water additive does work. The cats dont seem to mind the taste. It is not an overnight cure but with time really helps. You have to be consistent. Yes, you can mix ahead in a gallon jug and keep in fridge.

I am a BAD teeth brushed. Going to do some more research on this stuff too. The girls have bad teeth anyway and have already both lost a canine tooth. So a water additive is really helpful. Plus, brushing teeth with the girls is like dancing with a pig covered in razor blades.
