Hello guys.
I am a 37y old guy with a huge interest in cats since, well, forever.
I've had cats all my life and fell hard for the sphynxes a couple of years ago and bought one from holland first. That contract I had to terminate because of an accident that kept me in hospital for nine months.
A few years after my accident one of my housecats died so the dream of a sphynx yet again surfaced and I got one. A beautiful guy that I names Streak.
I lost that cat in a settlement after having split up with my girlfriend amazingly enough as the cat was registered to me, insured by me and by all means owned by me. I bought two cats during our time together a siamese for her and a sphynx for me but still I lost it. Well, what to do?
I had to accept facts and I started to look for a new naked friend as I have fallen completely for these cats. So social, playful and just lovelly pets.
Today, just a few hours ago I came home with my new friend. A show quality very well bred sphynx decending from champions on both sides but that is secondary. He is the most wonderful little creature ever. 16 weeks old, having spent a few weeks at another home until it became clear that an allergy made it impossible in that family.
As we speak he is playing like mad but aborting every 3-4 minutes or so to come to rub himself against my face for 30 sec or so until running back to the toys.
Great cat I got. :D
Gonna post some pictures and a video soon.
His name is Darwin by the way.

Welcome, Darwin's Daddy!!!
You already sound in love!! That is great!! I can't believe that people are getting away with "stealing" pets in settlements.... probably just to get even with the other person. I know pets are considered property, but they are SOOO much more than that! It's great that you found a new baby and now no one can take him from you!! I always say that I am single because my sphynx gives me SO much more love and LESS aggravation than any man could (no offense)... but it goes both ways....
Congrats on a new beginning with a new friend.

Can't wait to see pics!!!

Welcome alphabet-name! Can't wait to see pictures of Darwin.

When I was in the process of getting divorced my husband sued for visitation rights to the cats. My attorney countered and said if he wanted visitation then he'd have to pay support. Husband decided visitation wasn't that important. Yes, that was a true story.

Thanks for all the welcomes :)

Well in sweden there are no such thing as visitation or shared custody of pets if you don't agree on that yourself. Here pets are regarded as any other property, like a sofa or whatever. One person gets it.
They atterney thought it was more natrual if the pet went with the girl it seemed and so she ruled.
I was very very sad after that meeting.

The "alfabetname" has a good reason actually and has been with me since the dawn of internet so i'm kunda stuck with it, and now so are you guys

I have taken tons of photos and movies tonight but my 5Mpixel cell-camera is just not cut out for good pix when dark. Tomorrow I try again otherwise you have to wait until next week when I have a good cam for a few days.
B well...

Welcome to the site!

I have lost two pets to divorce. To lose them both, and not know if they are safe, happy, or loved was the most terrifying part of the process. It still hurts to think about, and I miss them with all of my heart.

But! I am looking forward to seeing pictures of Darwin! He sounds like a feisty and playful little bugger.. video would be great!

skål!!
