Help Deciding Color?

Hi everyone. My boyfriend and I recently got our first hairless baby and have been arguing ever since about what color he is. The first photo is from his breeder. He obviously is some sort of point; his nose, tail, and ears, almost seem blue or black to me but then his paw pads are reddish-brown. Would love to hear what you guys think

@MomosMom its very hard to tell from the pics, he is definitely classed as a point due the colour on his points and blue eyes so he is a bi colour point.

He can’t be chocolate and seal at the same time, as the chocolate is a genetic mutation of the seal point, however based on so the pics he definitely looks seal as he is very dark but looking at one pic and his paw pads they look definitely chocolate.

The chocolate gene is recessive and must be carried by both parents in order to produce a chocolate kitten or if their was the dilute gene it would be lilac.

If you like I’d be happy to look at his pedigree, you can PM it to me and see if I can see chocolate in his pedigree lines and if not you would be able to safely say he is a bi coloured seal point (sorry trying to get use to what they call it over here in USA) in comparison to Australia

@Rachlp Thank you that does help! I do know that his mother was a seal point and his dad was chocolate. His siblings were solid color (light brown/grey) and darker than he was when we picked him up. He seems to be getting some darker coloration on his back as well so hopefully when he’s full grown it’ll be easier to tell. Ill try and update with pictures as he grows and develops the colors more.

@MomosMom well if his dad was a visual chocolate and his mum carried the chocolate gene he certainly could be a chocolate, if his mum didn’t he would definitely be seal.

It’s a lot harder with sphynx because of the lack of hair but we use to tell by how dark their nose and paw pads were, as the chocolate is a much lighter brown on the pads and the lilac is awesome, their nose and paw pads look almost blue but with a purple tinge, but I have not seen a lilac sphynx. Does anyone on here have a chocolate or lilac so we could all admire???

@Rachlp here is our sweet chocolate boy. My guess on your baby @MomosMom was seal because of the nose being dark. Chocolate babies have cinnamon colored nose and toe pads. But never know your baby’s nose can just be dirty. So many pics of my boy show his nose dark from dirt lol. But here is a clean one so you can see the true color.

@Catzzzmeow oh yes look at him, you can definitely see the difference here cant you, his nose pad and points so much lighter, yes in comparison definitely would agree with seal, it’s so exciting to see the rarer colours coming out in the sphynx, I’m only use to seeing chocolate and lilac in Persians that have so very much hair but again their fur can run hot or cold, often when registering kittens it was so easy to get confused looking at a red and cream and seam point and chocolate point but I did also think seal due to how dark @MomosMom baby is and looking at these pics I really would think seal.

Gee your man is so very handsome, makes me want to get a lilac point now ha ha

@Catzzzmeow What a handsome boy! Thank you for showing him, I agree I think the difference in the dark of their noses makes me think he’s seal like his momma.

Quick Update:

I’ve noticed that he seems to be darkening in color. When we brought him home he was completely pink on his back whereas now there are darker spots forming on the back of his neck and shoulders (I’ll include photos). Also his face seems to be much darker, specifically his cheeks and forehead (lol). I think it’s adorable, and also interesting

Oh I am trying my hardest to enjoy him while he is small. Tons of pictures. He’s already doubled in weight since his first vet appointment and I can’t believe it.
Honestly I’m most amazed with how affectionate he is for such a young kitten. From day one he has been glued to me day and night. When I make dinner (the only time I can’t hold him) he cries until I let him sit on my shoulders and watch. I adore it, I’ll attach some pictures from our kitchen camera.
