Peaches is using the bathroom (1 and 2) beside or in front of her box. She did this before when she was first being trained but just lately started back. I have not changed her litter brand or moved her box and it's not every time but about 50% of the time. The box is in my laundry room so it's not on carpet so I just put down a puppy pad and it catches the mess most of the time. That makes my job a lot easier :) She has never used the bathroom anywhere else in my house just directly next to the box. HELP! Keep in mind she is deaf and scolding is a little difficult. Whenever ever I catch her doing it I give her a light tap on the butt (nothing hard) so she doesn't do it when I'm looking. she sneaks lol.

Ellie was doing this for a couple months and we were out of ideas and done with the mess.. almost ready to re-home her because we thought she was having territorial issues with our other 2 cats. As a last resort and a bit of a "pffft yeah right" I bought this http://www.petsmart.com/supplies-tr...36-catid-200093?var_id=36-13500&_t=pfm=search @ petsmart and I kid you not.. worked like a charm. There has only been one instance where there was a poop on the floor infront of the box. Other than that it has been MONTHS *knock on wood* since we've had any issue. You can also get a box of cat attract to sprinkle on your current litter but it doesn't have nearly the same reviews.

It's important to follow the instructions exactly as they recommend.

Multiple litter boxes help. Lining the floor with newspaper helps. You might need to see a vet. Something might be wrong.

I added another box and it helped a lot. She hasn't completely stopped but she is getting better every day. I think she will stop soon.

Here's the sticky about this stinky topic... http://sphynxlair.com/community/thr...ing-outside-the-litter-box.24319/#post-282177

There are lots of ideas to deal with your cat "going" outside the box. :depressed:
I noticed you mention the litter box is in the laundry room, vibrations and the rumbling of the washer and dryer can deter cats from using the box properly, I took a snippet from the thread @Cattitude had mentioned.

* Location~location~location ~ Try another room, or area. He may not like tracking into a basement or even a dark "chilly" room! Loud noises like washers and dryers can deter your sphynx from using the litter box. Be sure they are in satisfactory places, NOT near the food and water dishes. Be sure the litter boxes are not in hard to get to spots (obstacle course), or heaters or boilers that become warm or hot and make the smell more prominent, it can deter the cat from using the box.

I thought about that so put a box in a different location and Peaches refuses to go to it. She still goes to the one in the laundry room or beside it. But my other cats are going to the other boxes now so Peaches has the one in the laundry room to herself and that is helping. All three of my cats love the laundry room because it's the only place in my house that I pick up WiFi so I'm in there a lot (now) and they all stay in there with me. Peaches loves it when the dryer is running because of the heat and she likes vibration , maybe because she is deaf?

You said three cats, there should be 3 boxes per cat. That is generally the recommendation - but no the law! :) worth a try.

We have 3 cats, 3 covered boxes, unscented fresh n light litter.. No litter trays.. ( keep a small dust pan behind box)
I scoop 3- 4 times a day..

I would make sure with a vet that she does not have a urinary tract infection ,IBD, etc .. just to make sure she is okay .

I had four the two boxes for my Rex. He like to do his poo in a separate box. He also even had accidents beside it when I had three. I found breeders choice litter the best. He also like crystals at one stage. You must clean the tray at least twice a day. They also like different heights of litter. You need to try filling it at different levels. However I have learnt you must go to the vet if toilet habits look like this.
