Hey everyone, I apologize for not posting in such a long time. I had gotten very ill and unfortunately I was never on my computer. :( Last week I took both Rusty and Meg to a very cool daycare here in Los Angeles, CA. I explained to them Rusty's temperament, and how he is very timid. I requested to have them showered and have them put "Soft Paws" (I am trying to get around both these lil one's from playing rough and hurting each other)
Anywho, place is wonderful, my cats had their own private room and a really nice window perch they could lay on. When I went back to pick them up they looked clean but eager to leave. I am sure the new experience made them feel very uneasy. I was told by one of the workers that there were tours of people throughout the day and that Meg would go up to them to greet them. Meg is very outgoing, talkative and oh my does she like to look for attention. Once we got home Rusty got out of his carrier and began to hiss at meg and everyone that was getting "too close" I suggested to let him scope around the house and for us to talk to him and reinforce the fact that he was home.

Let me fast forward...
So I always clean their ears but a week from the daycare I attempted to clean both Rusty and Megs, urrr whoooo hasss?
lol
Rusty began to hiss at me and do the low growl, i continued to clean and talk to him. Trying to reassure him. I didn't know if i should had let him go or to continue because I didn't want him to get the idea that his attitude was ok.
I have noticed that when Meg sees people walking while she sunbathes she quickly jumps off the bed or from wherever she is and hides under the bed. She resumes to sunbathe after I call her out. I just don't understand why she is doing that! I do not know if I am overreacting... I have been working myself up over this but if they aren't ok, then I'm not ok.
Thanks for reading can't wait to hear what you fellow cat parents have to say!
xoxo

Have they started to act this way since you started to taking them to daycare?
Thank you for replying, I took them to daycare once and that was last week. I haven't taken them since but ever since then Meg has been "hiding" when she sees new people (something shes never done) and Rusty has been hissing whenever we try to clean him

Well, I see you stated that in your topic. Something must be going on with the daycare.
They are not satisfied for some reason. Do you have to take them to daycare? Can they
no stay home by themselves? If they can, I don't think I would take them back there.
They will have each other at home and they will feel safe and secure there.
They will probably calm back down too.

I was getting my carpet changed so I HAD to take them to a sitter. The Daycare is known and reviewed wonderfully. I was very comfortable to leave them there since some of the workers own their own Sphynx. I feel like they aren't upset only at specific moments. (seen new people, shower, cleaning the bum area) I don't want to blame myself but this might be my fault
It was an urgent thing and that's the only reason why I took them there :/

Well, don't blame yourself, you took them to the best place. It's something you had to do.
They will get over it, just give them a little time. They will be alright. It's probably bothering you more than them.
