Awh(((hugs))) was there a rcemt rabies vaccine? They are usually given right rear leg-
We have seen several kitties with vaccination lumps that usually go away on those own
I would call your vet and ask where they gave shots amd give them an update
How long has it been there?

Here's one threads about vaccine lump ( she updated recently it went away :) )

Lump after the vaccination
If you go to top right search box type in vaccination lumps amd several threads should list
Search Results for Query: Vaccination lump | Sphynxlair[node]=20

Please keep us updated!

Thank you! She had a rabies shot on 4/13. I have been watching it hoping it would go away. But now I'm starting to get worried and I wanted to read back over other people's experiences. I think I'm having new mom freal out. Lol

@DawnSchwartz ,(( hugs))) how is the area today?
I would call the vets office and ask them if the vaccine company pays for the follow up for a lump to be checked which developed after the rabies vaccination ?
I would also ask the brand of rabies vaccine - was it Purevax?

We see several kitties get this lump after a rwbies vaccine -
My boys went completely away in about 3 weeks

I may opt for titer test in the future -

Keep us updated!

Hope it goes away this is becoming so common, in Sphynx.
But, it probably, does, in cats with fur also.
You just can't see them.
It would be if the owner felt it.

The vet said it should go away on its own in a few months. He didnt even wamt to see her. Another little bump has shown up so I am going to get a second opinion.
Never a bad idea to get a second opinion!
Hope everything is okay, sending positive vibes your way.
Hugs!

When my two boys got their last rabies shots one of them got a lump at the site and the other did not. It didn’t appear until about a week after. I called my vet and they assured me it can happen and is harmless and would go away anywhere between 2 weeks and 2 months. It was entirely gone in about 3 weeks.

Lump from rabies shot = not unusual.
Lump from other vaccines = may be cause for concern.

Call your vet and ask where the rabies shot was given, they should be willing to give you that information over the phone without charge, and if the lump is there it should (will) be ok. I still worried too!

btw This thread is a couple of years old so the original poster may not respond but we can try tagging them. @DawnSchwartz

I adopted him from a,couple. That could no longer take care of him. I domt think it's from a shot cuz he has 2 small one that went away ..now he has this big one and then a small one right next 2 it ..and then a round spot with red a round the outside.

@Mindy Kelley healing vibes sent .. So sorry you didn't get answers to the bumps from the dermatologist . I too have a kitty with a large bump and two small bumps as well as a grade 3 heart murmur . I too do not want to put him under anesthesia for a biopsy .
I am praying they are benign fatty lipomas like we see in dogs . I am monitoring at this point .

Did the dermatologist mention if the bumps could be benign fatty lipomas?
Or possibly Folliculitis?

@Mindy Kelley
Checking in for updates ?
Positive vibes !
What was the diagnosis /treatment ?
You mentioned gotten worse :( Do you have an updated pic ?
My older boy has a similar side lump ..like a Fatty lipoma dogs get two tiny smaller ones.
They are not any vaccination sites. They do not crust amd he doesn't bother them at all.
After I get over a huge vet bill recently I will be discussing this further with my vet the first of the year

@Mindy Kelley
Did the vet suggest a needle biopsy ?
Did vet mention anything it could possibly be to rule out?
Yikes $400 what did that include ?
